Just by adding names from census etc. but not adding any records. Then from those family members going on with Marriages etc. It is very easy to build a very large tree, if you then research those who marry into a family and add all theirs as well. And some do do this.

My tree when on here had no records attached (just over 300),

But my tree now on Ancestry is now over 500 with census BMD etc., added.

When I first started out out on here there was no facility to add records, just a comments box.

How can someone have 4500 people in their tree & only 2 records???
