If you live in the UK, have a look in your local library. Many of them have a special sub to Ancestry.

Alternatively, anyone on here would be only too happy to look at the historical ER/census on Ancestry for you. Don't forget about the 1939 Register on Findmypast which can be searched by address

Are you looking for the people living at the address? It is unlikely that they were the owners of the property whether rich or poor as renting a house or hovel was far more usual.

You can find out who was living at an address in the census years 1851 1861 fairly easily by looking up the enumeration district. This is easy to do with Ancestry no idea with GR.

Some of the electoral records survived ( bearing in mind the restrictive franchise ). Ancestry has all of the London/Surrey records and quite a lot for other areas - it is continually adding to them.

Land Title Deeds are normally handed over to purchasers when ever the property changes hands.

If you wanted to know the history of a house, you could contact the nearest Library with a local studies section or Archive. If its still standing or only recently been demolished, they may have some records. You're more likely to be successful if it were a substantial property.

Hi All , Is there any site i can get free info on Land Title Deeds As i have address details but looking for somewhere to look up owners from 1850 1860 time frame Can anyone help me Thanks :-(
