Thanks to Kath, safc & alviegal for your postings - much appreciated.

Kath: I'm hoping this is my great uncle's death registration - perhaps I'll send for a copy of the cerificate.

safc: I'd already pencilled in Gladys Fearnley as Edwin's spouse but thanks for confirming it. I believe Edwin and Gladys had three children all born in Chepstow district

alviegal: at first glance the Edwin & Gladys Evans living at Hanover Street, Cardiff in 1939 appear to fit the bill although Edwin's year of birth appears to be one year out.

Regards

Richard

I'm looking for descendants of my great uncle Edwin Evans b. 4Q/1889 at Ty Canol Farm, Lower Baglan, West Glamorgan to John William Evans (1856 - 1944) and Mary Jane James (1863 - 1941)

The 1891 and 1901 Censuses show Edwin and family living at Ty Canol Farm, Lower Baglan and The New Farm House (later renamed Leechpool Farm), Portskewett, Monmouthshire respectively

The 1911 Census has a 21 year old unmarried Edwin living at Hill Farm, St Arvan's, Monmouthshire

Unfortunately I know very little about Edwin's life after 1911 other than he:-
1) married and had offspring (wife and children's names unknown)
2) owned/ran a garage in the Risca area of Monmouhshire
3) moved to Pembrokeshire lately in life.

My research suggests Edwin possibly passed away in Pentlepoir, Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire in 1987

Any help much appreciated

Richard Evans
