many thanks. I am living in Holland and have been told by my granfather in a letter that was handed down his father was serving as a ships baker on the Arabia. After the ship went down he never heard from him again so thats why I believed he went down with the ship.
I will have to look again

Of the 6 Hudson sailors commemorated on the CWGC as having died in 1916, none were serving aboard the Arabia.

RMS Arabia was a P&O ocean liner. She was sunk in the Mediterranean in 1916 by a German U-boat during World War I. (Wiki)

The only loss was that of two members of the crew who were killed by the explosion. The Arabia was carrying a very large amount of mail from Australia, all of which was lost.

Anthony, it's highly unlikely that anyone with mutual knowledge will stumble on this thread anytime soon. You need to search for them, with names.
Try the CWGC site to find RN/MN seamen to identify the deceased.

If you would like help to trace your relative, then please give more details other than just Hudson who may have died at sea during 1916.

Hi Does anyone on here have a family member that died in 1916 while serving on a ship believed to be the Arabia.? Having a big problem on this side of the family
