Hi my late mothers great uncle was born in Spain in 1891 can anyone advise how you can search for his details. On the census it states place of birth BP Spain

Try using the free Familysearch website for starters. Could the BP Spain actually be BS for British Subject?

Do 1901 and 1911 both just say Spain ? Nothing more specific in either?

Was his father in the army

If so it may be in the army indices on fmp

Being born in Spain doesn’t necessarily make him Spanish

As her great uncle, the man was a sibling of one of the mother’s grandparents, so his parentage must be known
