Member Since: April 2004 Posts: 85 Send Message	Help!! I have very rashly promised to start searching for my godmother's family who all came from Kerry and Moa in southern Ireland. Now that I have sat down and started, I have realised that I dont have a clue where to start! Can anyone give me any pointers to get me started please?

Member Since: October 2009 Posts: 1 Send Message	Mary Ann Murphy 1863. Hello I am trying to trace my great grandmother who I think she was born in Limerick. Her father was Hugh Murphy. Mary Ann married Joseph Duncan in Middlesbrough in 1885. I don't know what year the family emigrated to England. All I have is the copy of the marriage certificate from Middlesbrough. I wonder if anyone could help out I would appreciate it. Thanks Louis Langley

	Welcome to the boards, Louis. Have you found Mary Ann and Joseph in any censuses? Or Hugh? You say "the family emigrated to England" - do you mean that Hugh and maybe others did too?

	Louis Do you have any names of the children of Joseph and Maryann, your grandfather/mother year of birth? cant trace family on census. The 1911 census usually shows the area in Ireland where person was born. Do you know whether they stayed in Middlesborough area.
