Greeting’s Again Cindi …. Ashby De la Zouch is the better Historical place of interest. M 5 > M42.> A 42. Come off at Junction A42 / A611. Come back on yourself entering the Town of Ashby on the B587.( Nottingham Road which changes into Wood Street) follow signs for Tourist Information Centre. Central Car Park next to Hood Park Leisure Centre on Elford Road. Easy walking distance to Town Centre ( Through jetty ) & Ashby Castle. Make sure you visit the Indoor Market on Wood Street ( But take your Bank Manager with you…. it can be pricey ) If you go onto Castle Donnington take the B587 (NOT the… A42 ) then look out for village of Breedon -on–the-Hill. Oh......A pair of Ear plugs.... Castle Donnington is at the end of the Runway of East Midlands Airport. AVOID junctions 23, 23a.24 of the M1 ….it’s a NIGHTMARE !!!!!! MIKE. xx
