Since I can't find a Thomas Trundler or thomas Browning birth reg for 1838, I reckon the Trundley you unearthed must be this chap. You'd think someone called Anty or Ant**** Trundler/ley would be easy to find, eh!

CamDex has these TRUNDLE? marriages in the early registration years: * TRUNDLEY, Charles - 1839 - Huntingdon, BOWERS * TRUNDLEY, Mary - 1842 - Cambridge, LEVETT * TRUNDLEY, Eliza - 1844 - Cambridge, SWANN * TRUNDLER, Sarah - 1845 - Cambridge, NORTHROP * TRUNDLEY, James - 1845 - Cambridge, COULSON * TRUNDLER, Ann - 1847 - Cambridge, PAYTON * TRUNDLEY, Sarah P - 1848 - Cambridge, JOHNSON * TRUNDLEY, Saville - 1851 - Cambridge, MIDDLETON, PARISH * TRUNDLEY, William - 1851 - Fenland, MILES * TRUNDLEY, Rebecca - 1853 - Huntingdon, WATSON and there are a handful/couple of TRUNDLEY IGI (submission) marriages - I think the one I checked back looked well-founded. I suppose the ''Anty Trundler'' name suffers from the fate of anything unusual in transcription/enumerator terms - ''It can't be that, I'll put this''. - it is you who has Smoothey/Lenorthy in your family tree? Christine

Nell - that submission does look very plausible, doesn't it! Christine

There's an Iris Trunley on the Ancestry Names-boards. She's a lonely soul - the only posting (12 Sep 2004 8:31 AM GMT) and with no reply: <<< would love to hear from any one with the name trunley , trundley or any other similar name. please email me iris.trunley§talk21*com >>> Maybe she has something useful for you - if the e-address is still valid, of course! How/where did you find that submission, Nell? I can't get it to come up at all on the LDS site. Christine PS - may be obliged to relinquish computer seat in order to go and buy rations for the week!

More About ANTONETTA TRUNDLEY: Christened: October 3, 1819, St Andrews Churchyard Swavesey Cambridge England ii. HENRY TRUNDLEY, b. ... familytreemaker.genealogy.*com/users/o/l/l/David-I-Ollerton/FILE/0144text.txt - 37k - googled Henry and got next bit; More About HENRY TRUNDLEY: Burial: August 7, 1844, St Andrews Churchyard Swavesey ... More About HENRY TRUNDLEY: AGE AT DEATH (Facts Pg): 1 yr old Burial: but the link is broken - but it's the same chap as transcibed TRUNDLEY MIs in the link below (and gives an e-address there). This site can give you a ''guided tour'' but not all the links have been completed, so you need to persist. Mainly the individual features are there (e.g. font, pulpit); http://www.ely.anglican.org/parishes/swavesey/ Christine

OK I now have family A 1841 - possibly Blucher [?] Row, St Andrew the Less Cambridgeshire [all born in county] William Flack 25 abt 1816 labourer Matilda Flack 23 abt 1818 Henry Palmer 2 abt 1839 Thomas Broain 30 [image looks like Brirarin] abt 1811 shoem. Anty Trundler 20 abt 1821 Thomas Trundler 2 abt 1839 which might be my Thomas Browning and his wife Antonetta, who appear in 1851. No Freebmd birth for Thomas Trundler or Thomas Browning, but there is a Thomas Trundley in 1839. 1851 HO107/1760 359 p.21 Cambridge St Andrew the Less 9 Albert Street, Thomas Browning abt 1810 Cambridgeshire, Head cordwainer [Robt's occupation was shoe maker] Anturantte[image looks just like that] Browning abt 1823 Swaversey, Cambridgeshire, Wife laundress Thomas Browning abt 1838 Cambridgeshire, Son scholar Alfred Browning abt 1850 Cambridgeshire, Son James Dalton abt 1781 Cambridgeshire, Lodger cordwainer >>Mary Moore abt 1840 Cambridgeshire, Servant house servant Alternatively, I've found Thomas junior b. 1838 with father Thomas a labourer and wife Mary in 1841. So either Thomas was shacked up with Ant* in 1841 and later married her (or they pretended to be married) OR Ant* was 2nd wife (or pretended wife) after Mary. This would explain 1851 entries with gap of over 10 years between children. I looked for other Trundler/Trundley births and found this one William Browning Trundley Year of Registration: 1847 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Cambridge (1837-1935) County: Cambridgeshire Volume: 14 Page: 22 Sure these families are connected, I just wish I could work it out!
