Merry Report 21 Dec 2005 22:00

Tent now put up in Bridgwater......A very RICH rellie was born here, so I'm hoping this will rub off on me??!! The huskies snow machine has run out of snow........I have had to buy an emergency supply of cotton wool and they are now sleeping on that........................ Bev, I agree, to buy yourself a present is the best way.....when I tell my mum what I would like she says, ''But I don't want to buy that''!! Jess, my mum had a power drill for her 80th! Guess you would approve? Hope you have brought your toolkit because the rivets between the two roof boxes are getting loose......don't want you and Bobbin to go missing......... Tomorrow we should get down to Plymouth and that's when the excitment begins....Where does Crone live????? Merry

Hellooooo, is it all still on then??? Is it all organised?? Sorry I've been shirking but I bought that special offer 25 quids worth of 1837 credits as a C present to myself and got kinda engrossed......... then ordered 3 certs as another C present to myself....... ladies, it's the only way to get what you really really want for C-mas.... go buy it yourself. This only works if you have a joint bank account, or other access to the other half's dosh. My mother (who despite being posted to wherever), is still on the phone bending my ear 1,000 times a day and is driving me doolalley. It's now going to be close run race to see which of us hits the Funny Farm first. Anyone here actually like Brussels? The green sort not the city. Bev x

If Jess is like me she doesn't get a ''main'' present from Alan (well, I don't get a present from Alan at all.....)......we are lucky to get ONE present at all. I think I have inside info that Jess has to help him to buy her gift, so she wouldn't FORCE him to buy Eau de camel, would she?? LOL Merry

Thomas

Thomas Report 21 Dec 2005 19:55

Jess, it would appear from the aroma that you have broken the economy size bottle of 'Midnight in Dewsbury '(with a hint of camel essence ) that was your main pressie from Alan!! BAD GIRL.

I dont know WHAT the smell is Merry, i dare not get too close.thing that worries me most is there were only two smelly bags there last night, so whatever it is, its MULTIPLYING!! Maybe it's my christmas gift from Alan, but there again its about as likely to be that as a million pounds ...... Chips are good, so much nicer out of the paper with slightly gubby hands. save me your wrapper, I may nee to pop behind the bush again in a mo and am having a bit of trouble...... Jess x

An Olde Crone

An Olde Crone Report 21 Dec 2005 18:39

OK, now I KNOW they've got it in for me... Resurrected an old metal C- tree from the garage, bought in my minimalist period. Hurled some decos at it, mainly to cover the rust and put it on the windowsill. Bent down to do something and it fell on me, striking me hard across the temples. I now have three raised purple stripes across my forehead, look like Hiawatha, and a thumping headache. I went shopping (yet again) and forgot my list, so I have to go out tomorrow.I took my new cash card with me, but forgot to take chip and pin thingy, embarrassment at till whilst we run through my deck of cards, to find one which matches any pin number I can recall. Feel vertible WAVES of hatred coming from the 50 or so people queueing behind me. Should I be in a coma when you all arrive, just carry on without me. I have completely and utterly lost any interest in ANYTHING, and in the remote event that I am fully conscious on C- Day, can be found under the duvet, grizzling quietly and tiredly to myself. Oh, how I wish I was with Jess and Merry and Bobbin, and the only thing I had to do was decide which chippy to go to - I have a funny feeling that their journey may extend itself to cover the rest of their lives.

Merry

Merry Report 21 Dec 2005 18:33

Whilst you were thinking, I went and got the chips!! Yum....salt and vinegar? I do wish you would tell me what that smell is coming from those three carrier bags in the lower roof box? Merry

Decisions, decisions.... Admiral Blake Fish Bar < Do you have Blake ancestors ? Nor me,no freebies then so perhaps not Crackers Takeaway < sounds like a ChineseX chippy to me,(hybrid) so no, two different sytles of Cooking, shouldn't be mixed, besides they 'd see us coming and batter us!! Dolphin Fish Bar < Dont fancy Dolphin Happy Valley Fish & Chips< show me a fish with a smile on its face as you dip it in batter ... Ocean Bar < i want fish, not the water the Cr*p in Parkway Fish Bar Parkway < sounds like a good honest greasy spoon sort of place Polar Bear Fish Bar< say it 4 times quickly ~ and if you can say it right, you win and we'll go there . Gawd, why do you have to make it sooooooooo difficult for me?

Merry Report 21 Dec 2005 17:42

Just checked - 7 chippies in Bridgwater: Admiral Blake Fish Bar 6 St Mary Street Crackers Takeaway 104b Kendale Road Dolphin Fish Bar 30 Westonzoyland Road Happy Valley Fish & Chips 29 Penel Orlieu Ocean Bar 82-84 Bath Road Parkway Fish Bar Parkway Polar Bear Fish Bar 49 St John Street Which one do you like the sound of? The huskies want the Polar Bear Fish Bar.............I thought Crackers would be more appropriate? Merry

OH NO WOE/MOE... if the kids are on to you we need a plan to put them off the scent. How about you tell them that you are in your room wrapping their pressies and are not to be disturbed, do you think that may work? As a last resort tell them you are taking to your bed...and escape later. Fog on the Mersey would cause a bit of a dilemma as Tina would not be able to land safely on the poop deck. She wouldn't be able to see the poop never mind the deck. Can't take a chance of her ending up in the drink as I am not sure if her G-string is waterproop also I think the Tena Ladies, as good as they are, could not absorb the the whole of the River Mersey!!! Hang on.......had another idea...what if we disguise the Royal Iris as a GUN BOAT...we could use camouflage nets etc., this would prove useful later as we could use the nets for fishing. We may be lucky enough to catch some kippers....a much desired delicacy...and I am sure they would be a supplement to Olde Crones supply of chocolate. Hope these new plans meet with your approval. Beryl x

Its true you know, the light does go out when you shut the lid! Where are we planning to camp tonight? Can you make sure there is a decent chippy near by, i fancy some chips

Maybe it is her long lost distant cousin, ''Olde Crone Rathbone'', who's ancestor emigrated to the US in 1671?????? I'm sticking with Cornwall at the mo.......come on Bobbin and Jess..... Merry

The Bag

The Bag Report 21 Dec 2005 12:02

Porridge has warmed our tums nicely thank you.Just need to find a bush for a wee and we can be on our way. Im not sure that i will win the digging -up-the-rellie- game because i am not sure that Crone will let Bobbin play . We did practice before we set off but Bobster really isn't keen on the blindfold. But yes, dig? she can dig for Britian , especially on the beach where the hole fills with water as you dig , and then dive in it! No way will she be in my sleeping bag after we have been anywhere near a beach, (unless i am very VERY cold) Merry, be aware - I do 'cold' very easily! Jess x
