Hello Sandra Here are the census for Edward and Jane 1861-1891. I cant find a death for Jane or another marriage for Edward. It could be that Mary's husband got his wife's mother's name wrong, that unfortunately is one thing we will never know. Anyway I hope this helps Regards Sue 1861 Census RG9/1988 Folio 26 Page 9 47 Pearson Street, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire Edward Clemson, Head, Married, 27, Coal Miner, b. Hello Susan, Thanks for the offer. I'd really appreciate any help on this one, having difficulty finding on cenus or bmd. Edward Clemson born 1832 in Wolverhampton - Miner Mary Clemson Wife born 1831 Wolverhampton Mary Clemson daughter 1875 Wolverhampton I've found them in 1901 with Mary's (junior) husband John Jackman. But I can't find them any earlier. This is definately the right family in 1901. in 1901 their address was 63 Embden Street, South Manchester (RG13 3698 153) I ordered what I thought was the daughter Mary's birth certificate, but it states Edward Clemson as father but mother is Jane Clemson (formerly Sparrow). I have found a marriage record which looks like a match for Edward Clemson & a Jane Sparrow dated 1855 which could be likely, hence the name of birth cert. But surely if he remarried wouldn't the new Mary Clemson be written as 'step mother? Thanks in advance, Regards Sandra

Hello Carolyn Sorry I have been unable to find Isabella or Betsy on 1881 - very strange indeed - have you tried under Betsy's middle name incase she is living with her parents, but I do find it odd that the father is with one of the children - it could be the census registar made a mistake and didnt write them down. Kind regards sue

Hi again Susan, Please could you see if you can locate the marriage of my gg grandparents, as i can't find anything recorded until 2 years after the birth of my g-gran! (Which i am not discounting yet!) They are Henrietta Louisa Sheppard born 19/9/1887 in Figheldean, Wiltshire and Henry George Wade born circa 1879/80 somewhere else! He was in the Army so I suspect he was stationed in the Salisbury Plain area which is where he may mave met her, and so they may have married in Wiltshire. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks Heidi

Hi Susan, I am trying to find William Henry Russell - he changed his name from Russell to Ruffell as on his widows grave he is called Ruffell as are all of the family now - he married twice - his first wife died (no info) his second wife was Susannah Keeping and this marriage was on 30.01.1877 - he married as Russell - I sent away for the wedding cert hoping to find out how old he was but it didn't say except 'of equal age' I think and that he was a widower and living in Poplar - his wife was 78 when she died in 1931 so I am presuming that his age was the same or near around 1853 - his fathers name was Charles Russell and a labourer. William was a Mariner in the Merchant Navy and he died at Sydney - Australia on 25th June 1899 - not sure if he was buried at sea - cannot find any info on death other than what is on widows grave - this is all I have on him and I am at a standstill now - if you can help with any info it would be greatly appreciated. Regards Chris
