Bernard Report 30 Jun 2005 20:22

Hello Jess, it's Bernard again. You were good enough to find the Taylor family on the 1861 Census. We have been to the local library and trawled through the 1871 Census for the Hanlith area, plus a wide area around, without success. The daughters may well be married and have moved on by 1871, but we did expect to find the parents and probably one or two sons, as they were farmers.Thomas Taylor born abt. 1809, Ellen (Nellie) born abt. 1808, Stephen born 1851 and James H. 1852, all born at Slaidburn, West Riding, Yorks. Thanks and best wishes, Bernard

Jess, Brilliant that you found the road, I'm not sure that I would have wanted to be there at the time 1871/72, small pox and more so I read. If I can be more use with previous info please write. ... Maybe I should cheekily bounce what is newly available off of Mike & Bevs leicester thread... As for coast there is only one where a sweet Sou'westerly keeps the air clear and beer cool and that's where Pompey sits & Allen would be welcome to his pint or three! x Bob Jess, I have looked in this morning 30th, in case you had a breakthru, if you do manage a message, please be patient for replies, I am having a real battle getting a stable link to site of late. Bob
