Thanks Mike Won't be going to the records office for a few weeks now as i'm off to NZ/Australia for 4 weeks on Wednesday. My auntie moved in Oz from Leicester in the 60s and she knows i've started tracing the family tree and shes kept all the letters my grandad and grandma wrote to her since she went (they wrote every weeks for years) She said some of the letters refer to various ancestors so i'm bringing all my family tree printouts over and seeing if we can find out any more about the people Paula

Hi Mike, Could you help me once again, at the nottingham FHS you can buy a list of baptisms in your families surname for £3-65. Is it possible to get the same sort of thing from Leicester FHS. Cheers. Linda

Our Baptist church deposts records with the East Midlands Baptist Association - I imagine other denominations have similar arrangements. Jan

Greeting's Again Paula...... If you mean the Church next to the Memorial Park (Floral Bed fronts onto Long Street ) I believe that to be a United Reform Church. If your stuck for a church name I find this site useful :- If you type into your search engine ( goggle ) find a church and then click on the link to the directory. then type in the City/Town/ Village you require. I'm not sure where nonconformist Churches deposit they records I'll ask on a week on Sunday at the LRFHS AGM and get back to you..... MIKE.

Mike>> I've been going to the records office in Wigston on Saturday mornings as often as i can (work in the week) and am working my way through the parish records of the churchs i knew my ancestors lived near. One of my branches lived in Wigston and i've been through nearly all of the All Saints records but there are quite a few not on there. I know there is another church just down from the records office (not sure what sort maybe baptist?) Does the record office have parish records for non church of England churches and if so where are they? Paula

Elaine... Well it doesn't have every thing in it and it's only a list of events....Christenings Burials and Marriages but only brief information..... I think it might be better to put that price towards a Census disk...But don't let me put you off... and theres always me to ask ..... MIKE.
