Any ideas please on where to look as my father was 'placed' with a family in 1919 after being christened by his mother. I think the church figures here as the 'new' father ( who I know of ) worked as a verger and wondered if anybody has any clues on whether parish churches handled illegitimate children's futures as good works etc |
