Dear Sally, thank you for your help, Charles James family from the 1851 census is Elizabeth James 47 born Little Torrington Frances James 16 born Great Torrington George James 14 born Great Torrington Mary Ann James 12 born Great Torrington Charles James 9 Born Great Torrington John James 6 born Great Torrington Timothy L James born Great Torrington. Address New Street Great Torrington but i dont know where Charles was that night , the person who found this info for me didn,t say whether he loked for Charles so i didn,t know if you had an index for the 1851 census that you might be able to look on and give me some idea where he might be. If it is to much trouble i will understand as i know James isn,t the most helpful surname, but any help would be gratefully received. Thank again Cherry

No one has looked for him i assume he would not go to far. If it is not enough info i understand. I really need to find out where Charles was born so i can further my research. Hi, I'm looking for the Govier family. My great great great grandfather was Samuel John Govier he was born 1838 in Bidford or Parkham (they keep changing on the census) Devon. I would like to know who his parents were I think his father was called James not sure. Govier can also be spelt Goveyour, Goveyeur, Govegone and Govegrin if it helps. Thank you. Fern Blackman. P.S. I am looking for John William Michell born 1847, I think his parents , father possibly James came from Mary Tavey, Devon, looking for names also I think he married Mary Ann Holwell in 1869, she was born in 1849, I wonder if you could find anything for me. Would be very grateful.
