I know there was some criticism of Archive CD books recently, but I can't find the thread :-(. Thought people might be interested in the following from their latest newsletter: Do you get the gift of a FREE CD by helping others? In the last newsletter we gave some free CDs away.... and here are more. It looks as though I might make this a simi-regular feature. I notice that lots of people are helping others by answering queries and pleas to overcome brick walls in their research.... by using the valuable information from the Archive CD Books. Not just looking for ancestors, but answering questions on all sorts of other topics about the villages and places where our ancestors lived. Wonderful stuff! This is what the family history mailing lists are all about. Helping others when they have a problem or a query. And of course, if you have the right books to hand, then they can be very useful. But that sort of thing does take up some of your time. I reckon that should be rewarded. Therefore I have taken just a few at random that I have seen over the last couple of weeks.... and the following 10 people can write to us at enquiries@archivecdbooks.org and claim a free CD of your choice. Any CD currently in production, up to GBP 25.00 in value. For the full listings of almost 1,300 CDs see http://www.rod-neep.co.uk/acatalog/sitemap.html Rosemary Dixon-Smith <dixonsmithbygad@eastcoast.co.za> Terry Leaman <terry@leaman.freeserve.co.uk> Jane McCredie <janemc1000@hotmail.com> Dave Dobbin <DVDobbin@aol.com> Lynne <lynne_r@tpg.com.au> Peter Rogerson Brunt <pbrunt2621@blueyonder.co.uk> Denny Lowe <heldenlowe@telus.net> Lesley Robertson <l.a.robertson@tnw.tudelft.nl> Joe Makowiec <makowiec@nycap.rr.com> Kathleen Torrisi <kathleentorrisi@tt360.com> Diane Donohue <chyreen@btopenworld.com> Corinne Thompson <visualarts@ozemail.com.au> Happy Christmas to you all from Archive CD Books Also, there is a 'free for all' for lookups for Cornwall and there is a deal on CDS.....two for the price of one! Sue PS. I don't have any financial interest in Archive CD books! |
