Teresa - if you're realy still up for this would you please have a look for a marriage between Winifred Napp (various spellings Knapp, Nap, even Knaff or Knagg!!!) and William Carter (again has turned up as Carver or Caster!!!) somewhere between 1891 and 1903 either Surrey or Sussex. I'm realy beginning to think they never tied the knot. Many thanks - Sue

To Jennifer and others waiting for look ups please give me a few hours. I am heading to the record centre for a bit. They are only open for two hours today. Lots to look for in that time. I will be back on the hunt for VRI's later

Hi Dawn I forgot to mention about the BVRI second edition. I got mine from the LDS website at www.familysearch.org/Eng for about $20 US. I am in Canada so this was the easiest way for me. There are 16 cds with 12.3 million records although still not complete for all counties. I have had mine for about 18 months or so. I am hoping they will update it again soon. Teresa

Hi Teresa, Thank You for your speedy reply. I was hoping for a miricle regarding Alfred Covell & Mary Toogood because their births just do not seem to exsist......but my search shall go on...& on & on, etc!!! You asked about Elizabeth's surname, apartently HARMAN was her maiden name (even though she coindencely married a fellow Harman out in Tasmania, Australia) and BURGOYNE was part of her middle name - it is stated on her marriage certificate too. She was a servant in Oxfordshire, just before leaving England in 1854 and the Shipping List states as her being born in Oxfordshire but her tombstone says she was born in Brighton, Sussex. As you can imagine, trying to find Elizabeth's roots & family back in England, is like sitting on a Merry Go Around..... Teresa, I really do appreciate your interest, time and help.......as I can see that you've been a 'busy bee'......THANK YOU SO MUCH. P.S.......Do you mind if I ask you, where did you buy the 'Vital Records Index' (2nd Edition) from...........Is it the latest edition out, as I am going to do my utmost best, working on my Hubbi, to get me one for Xmas (someone is hoping...!!!!) All the best, from Dawn.

Thanks for looking Teresa, but it's highly unlikely that the Worcestershire and Lincs members are anything to do with us. Worth a try though - thanks! Janet

Hi Dawn No Alfred Covell. The only Mary Toogoods are in Lancs, Dorset, Wilts and Hants during that timeframe. Is Elizabeth Harmon the birth or married name? I wasn't sure if Burgoyne was the birth name
