Nicola Dudley There is a free BMD for staffs I put the link on this page last week. Are you in Stoke on Trent the archives are in Hanley Library all you do is ring to reserve a Fiche reader all the BMD are there and the 1901 cencus and parish records its easy to use and the assistants are happy to help you get started and its free!!!!There is also an LDS family centre in Newcastle the address is on the LDS site.
