I learnt more about my ancestors in a couple of days with help from others on the Rootsweb mailing lists than from years of my own research. These are email lists where people place emails requesting help on their family history.Funnily enough I got most help from people abroad even though I was researching Notts and Lincolnshire. Go to any search engine and type in ROOTSWEB MAILING LIST and follow the links.Click to the area you think your relatives came from ,subscribe to the list for your area, follow the etiquette for a day or two and then post your own question. If they are good lists you will be amazed at the response.
