A note about census ages. I have the birth certificate of my grandmother, and therefore know her correct age at the time of the 1891 and 1901 cenuses. The ages given on these censuses are incorrect. There is no doubt about her being the person listed, so could it be that the ladies were inclined to knock off a few years when asked by the cenus taker? I rather think so.
