Hi Mellie,

Yes, I saw from his birth record that his mother's maiden name was Harvey, but when I found the marriage reference for Albert Charles Farrow, I thought the name was so similar to Bertie's that it might be his father and because neither of the spouses names was Harvey, I thought it might have been a second marriage for the bride - in which case her name would no longer be Harvey.

However it seems they weren't married in Durham area, so it was the wrong marriage anyway.

In that case it's best to wait until you have your grandfather's birth certificate so you know the full name of his parents before looking for a marriage for them. It was just the Albert Charles sounded as if he could be the father for Bertie Charles but it was just a guess.

thanks for that information, i beleive however that berties perents got married in the suffolk area but cant be sure,

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 17 Sep 2007 18:10

This is a likely marriage for Bertie's parents but the only trouble is that of the two possible brides, neither is called Harvey. I wonder if it could be a second marriage for the bride:-

Name: Albert Charles Farrow
Year of Registration: 1902
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Sunderland
County: Durham, Tyne and Wear
Volume: 10a
Page: 1078

The bride is either Sarah Carr or Elizabeth Mabel Cromond.
