Death leaves a heartache no one can heal;
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
( Irish Tombstone )

kandj Report 21 Oct 2010 21:39

Grief remains one of the few things that has the power to silence us.

Life Goes On

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower
Nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I am gone
Speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves
That I have known.

Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So .... sing as well.

Nudging for Anita, who has just lost her dear Mum.

kandj Report 7 Oct 2010 22:06

Remembering today the birthday of my lovely Mum who I miss so very much.
Raising my glass to wish a Happy Birthday Mum.

Gone but not forgotten.

We Will Hurt

We will hurt
For the love we can't give.

We will rejoice
For the love you have received.

We will be restless
For our lives are not whole.

We will be peaceful
For we know it is not forever.

kandj Report 3 Oct 2010 16:28

A classic this.... read out in Four Weddings And A Funeral.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone
Prevent the dog barking with a juicy bone
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows around the necks of the public doves
Let traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West
My working week and my Sunday rest
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song
I thought that love would last forever.
I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now, put out every one
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Beautiful verses that maybe Carole (Tinkerbell) will find comforting when able to read them. My sympathy Carole, on the sad loss of your Dad

I Am Not Gone written by Michael Ashby

I am not gone
While you cry with me
I am not gone
While you smile with me
I am not gone
While you remember with me.

I will come
When you call my name
I will come
When I feel your pain
I will come
On your final day.

It could never be
That we
Would never be.

We shall always
Be together

I am not gone.

Ah bless you Liz for those kind words and like you, I also believe that one day we will meet again.

More words to share:-

TIME written by Henry Van Dyke

Time is too slow for those who wait
Too swift for those who fear
Too long for those who grieve
Too short for those who rejoice
But for those who love
Time is Eternity.

Gloria, that must have been so hard for your family to accept, losing a loved one so young and so suddenly. Just be reassured that one day you will all see her again.

kandj Report 29 Sep 2010 23:34

Hello All........... I am back once again:-

Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and
death is only the horizon, and
the horizon is nothing save the limit
of our sight.
(Rossiter W. Raymond)

Today, I stood at the graveside of my 44yr old niece. She had collapsed and died suddenly. The cause of death was "Natural Causes".
In a prieviously fit and well young woman, how can that be? I am sad!

kandj Report 28 Sep 2010 22:24

Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on, and
Treasured memories never fade
Because a loved ones gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
For as long as there is memory
They will live on in our hearts.

Loving wishes sent to Puss and her family at this sad time.

Dream as if you will live forever
Live as if you will die today..................James Dean

kandj Report 25 Sep 2010 22:14

Have this pinned on kitchen board where I have read these special words over and over again!

DREAMS written by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

kandj Report 24 Sep 2010 21:54

I agree with all your lovely sentiments Liz.

This is yet another "Remember Me" but not words shared earlier. This one by Christina Rosetti

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by my hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray,
Yet if you should forget me for a while, and
Afterwards remember, do not grieve;
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
