To Those I Love

If I should ever leave you,
Whom I love
To go along the silent way. . .
Grieve not.
Nor speak of me with tears.
But laugh and talk of me
As if I were beside you there.

(I'd come. . .I'd come,
Could I but find a way!
But would not tears and
And grief be barriers?)

And when you hear a song
Or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thought of me
Be sad. . .for I am loving you
Just as I always have. . .

You were so good to me!
There are so many things
I wanted still to do. . .
So many things I wanted to say
to you. . . Remember that
I did not fear. . . It was
Just leaving you
That was so hard to face.

We cannot see beyond. . .
But this I know:
I loved you so. . .
'twas heaven here with you!

This is the poem that my hubby has written for his Daddy, who passed away on Tuesday.

So proud of you Dad for your life we all shared.

Through trouble and strife we all knew that you cared.

Your guidance was great.

It was second to none.

We`ll all have to build on that now you`ve passed on.

Though sadness and heartache are with us today.

The good times and laughs we had will always stay.

Your passing was sudden, we`re all still in shock.

We`d all give our hearts just to turn back the clock.

Don`t worry about Mom as she`s still in good hands.

You have to go now to those beautiful lands.

Be sure in the knowledge as you pass through this cloud.

Your Family all love you.

And we`ll all make you proud.

You loved all the Broads and even the Glenn.

But we shall have better times.

When we all meet again.

Rest now Dad. Love you.

Memories

They say memories are golden
Well, maybe that is true
But we never wanted memories
We only wanted you.

A million times we've needed you
A million times we've cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a special place
No one could ever fill

Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

Read out today at the funeral of my 41yr old nephew who died suddenly just 5 weeks after his sisters sudden death!

Life Goes On

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower
Nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I am gone
Speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves
That I have known.

Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So .... sing as well.
