I've already signed up for a Cancer Research 5km Race for Life in May (I'll be walking it because I have a bionic ankle held together with bits of metal and screws!) and have so far got £225 sponsorship promised on my sponsorship page from the fellow members of a diy site that I'm a member of, although my target is £500, so I have a way to go. I find it humbling that strangers that I've never met are so generous!

I'm tempted to do the 10 mile Ribbon Walk in aid of a Breast Cancer charity as I think it'll be more challenging and I have had had breast cancer in the family. There's a £30 entry fee and £250 minimum sponsorship but I'm worried that I'll not manage to get that much! Has anyone else been in the same predicament, you want to make a difference but are not sure if you'll achieve the targets needed? I feel like I've got the fundraising bug, I feel good knowing I'm finally doing something positive.

Better still has anyone done the Ribbon Walk? Was it as challenging as they say?
