Hi all,
What fantastic weather we are having, temperatures reaching 22 degrees in some places. Like summer. Yesterday was our Memorial Day (like 10th November in England) and today has been Liberation Day, which has now been given a public holiday every 5 years and this year was one of the five! There were music concerts and other events all over the country. In fact these last few weeks we have had fantastic weather and lots of festival days - Queen's Birthday, Easter, Ascension Day, Liberation Day. What a year!
This weekend is Whitsun and also Mothers' Day on Sunday.
Johan is going to have both his eyes operated on this coming Friday to tighten the skin above his eyes. It is actually a beauty treatment and this year we are able to have it on the National Health. He will look a bit of a mess for Mothers' Day, but afterwards a young man???????????
Time is creeping on me for going to England. We hope to leave here on June 12th and drive down to
Calais and catch the boat and make our own way round. We have now decided not to book the hotels as June is not a busy month and then we can stay an extra day now and again if we want to.
I see that Jill is also in the uk then. I hope to see one or two of you when I am there.
Issy, you might to better to buy on internet. There are some wonderful sites where you can buy at good prices. And what a collection they have!

Hi everyone

Another glorious day, I hope this is not going to be our summer!!!

Sylvia I do buy most of my supplies online. Its just that Hobbycraft is quite near and on a retail park which is very nice to visit. When my daughter and I first started making cards we went there often and got some really nice stamps and papers but the stock is not so interesting these days. Some of my favourite sites are Joanna Sheene, Cardcraftplus. Stampaddicts and Crafters Companion. I use Create and Craft too and I like to watch the programme. Unfortunately, we cannot get Sky at the moment. The scaffolding is blocking the signal and I am getting withdrawal symptoms.

Have had a good day crafting today. Have been building up a stock of cards. Once the builders have finished my daughter and I will be busy decorating!. The children have been planning their new bedrooms and looking at catalogues to choose all the bits and pieces they are going to need. Hopefully it wont be too long now.

Bye for now

Afternoon everyone glad to see you are all OK!!
Sylvia hope everything goes well for Johan on Friday.
It might not look as bad as you think!

Well as it is a craft day on QVC Thursday I am going to try to watch some of it, could not manage to see any yesterday. Would like to try something different so hopefully there will be something on there at some stage. I see it is a Nancy Hill TSV, love her things.

Ginnie sorry to hear you are not renewing your membership and hope things go well for you, have emailed you.
Ros, the cards sound like excellent value, off to have a look, also I did not realise that Lakeland were not doing crafting catalogues anymore, love looking through them and they do have some good bargain.
Have just finished my ATC's for this months so must get them in the post!
Hope you are all keeping well.

Hi all,
well it has been another scorcher here today. I finished off the plants on the balcony and added some fresh herb plants, so now have fresh parsley, thyme and chives. I will add to these when and where I see healthy looking plants. Growing from seed takes too long for me!
I had thought that I might go with Johan tomorrow to the hospital but have been feeling sick and dizzy this afternoon so think I will wait and stay cool till he comes home. I must do some shopping in the afternoon as my neighbour phoned from Hungary with a request for fresh milk etc. for her homecoming this weekend.
Sunday is Mothers Day so must make cakes etc.
Johan keeps pushing me to write e-mails etc. about our oncoming visit to England. He wants me to meet up with as many people as I can this year.
It is also Whitsun this weekend. I'll be glad when we have "normal" days again.
Must make some more cards soon as my stock is drying up.

Sorry have not been around for a few days as staying at daughters to look after grandchildren while she was taken away for a long weekend for her anniversary. I had a lovely time if not a little exhausting looking after the 3 of them, still at least the baby slept through the night. Difficult as daughter is still feeding him, but he did not mind the bottle too much!

Weather here a little cooler today although very sunny there is a nice cooling breeze. Hay fever at its worst today for some reason, cannot stop eyes and nose from running and will the sneezing ever end!

Sylvia, can I send out a message to everyone regarding you visit to see if anyone is available to meet up as quite a lot of the group are not members on here.

My herbs are not doing too well at the moment think I will have to replace them. Not sure if they have been eaten as we have lots of baby rabbits living in the garden at the moment, they are living in the what would have been a very big bonfire where we chopped all the hawthorne hedges back. OH was waiting for it to dry out!!

Hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying the nice weather

Hi all,
Well Johan's plastic surgery on his eye lids went off very well. He will have the stitches taken out tomorrow and feels well enough to drive himself to the hospital, so things are looking bright.
Johan has been doing a lot of mapping out of the route we want to take in England. We will most probably drive down to Calais and take boat to Dover and stay in Kent somewhere. Hope to find a static caravan for a few days. We will then travel to Southampton and make our way northwards. We want to stay in or around Oxford, then more north. The route is not yet finalised. Maybe a good job JoJo if you could send a message out. I would love to meet some of those I only know as "Anne", "Heather" "JoJo" etc.
The weather here is still fantastic.

Hi all,
Don't talk to me about global warming. I think we have had our summer now as it is so cold today. I went out on my scootmobile this morning to the market and managed to get absolutely soaking wet. I came home and changed all my clothes. Johan had a coffee ready waiting and a croissant.
My hairdresser phoned to say she cannot do any hairdressing for a couple of weeks. She had emergency surgery on one of her eyes. I don't know all the English words so cannot tell you what is wrong, but she will have to avoid strong light for while.
Johan has been spending a lot of time mapping out our route and is having trouble in some areas in finding static caravans or cottages to rent. I'll go through the list with him tomorrow.

Morning, well it is sunny here but cold. Sorry have not been around for a few days staying at daughters. Have come home with an awful cough and cold, so feeling lousy at the moment. Not planning on doing much today, but I am going to look at making the next lot of ATCs. Just off to light a fire as it is so cold here today.

Sylvia, have sent you a couple of emails.

Hope you all enjoy what is left of your weekend.

Hi all,
Poor Jo Jo you do seem to be in for it at the moment. We wish you a speedy recovery so that you can enjoy this gorgeous weather we are having.
Yesterday Johan and I went to see friends of ours who live in a nice seaside district. Our friend, who is 73 years of age, has had a stroke. It is awful to see one of your friends deteriorating. He had this stroke some time ago and is having physiotherapy to be able to use his arms etc. and is making improvements but of course he will not be 100% any more as a part of his brain will have been damaged.
Johan and I are still busy planning our trip to England. At the moment we are still looking for a static caravan to rent in Kent or thereabouts and also one in Oxford or thereabouts. We have had several write to say they are full.

Good morning to you all from a sunny Maine et Loire.
Hope you are all having a good long weekend over on the UK.
Sylvia, you are going to the UK the day I leave the UK, I will wave as the ferries pass :)))) We set off in about ten days as its Rémi's christening at the weekend after next
The lambs are all off the bottled milk so will be a lot easier for our friends that look after the place during our trip.
Been busy making cards in between getting my new kitchen planned, have now picked the one I want and also the granite work tops . We have been given the 8th Sept for the work to start so now need to get the utility sorted and look for the new cooker range and other appliances for the kitchen. Poor John is still in shock :)))))
Hope you are all keeping well

Good morning all from a wet and miserable gloucester. Luckily we were warned of bad weather so planned to clear out a couple of kitchen cupboards and also tidy the conservatory. Yesterday was lovely and we did a lot on the garden which is looking good now so don't mind an indoor day too much.

Jo, Hope you are beginning to feel better now, colds and coughs are miserable aren't they and conjunctivitis is horrible.

Jill, bet you are looking forward to the christening and your trip over here.

Sylvia, hope you find somewhere to stay soon.

Not made many cards lately as we have been getting the garden ready for summer, just made a couple of birthday cards, a new baby one and an anniversary one.

Take care

Hi all,
Well at last Johan and I seem to have finalised our plans for our holiday in GB. We leave here on 12th July and drive down to Calais and will most probably spend a night in Calais - don't tell Johan but there is a huge shopping centre there.
We are staying in Kent in a static caravan in Broad Hembury for 3 nights, then move on to Witney, Oxford (where we used to live) and staying in a static caravan there for 4 nights. We then go on to Derby and stay 3 nights in a static caravan and then 4 nights in Darlington in a static caravan. We will probably finish off by staying some nights in Travel Lodge hotels before returning home. We are not booking the boat as there are so many boats going backwards and forwards and it doesn't matter to us which time we go. We still have the gypsy feeling in us!!!!!!!!!!!
What a pity we'll miss you Jill, but then you are always popping over to England aren't you?
We had a shower of rain today but not too much.
How are you Jo Jo?

Hi everyone, sorry have not been around, still having problems with my eyes, go blurred when on the computer for any length of time.

Hope you are all OK and your weather is not too bad, just started raining here and looks like it is here for the evening.

Off now to think about the ATC's for this month, just a bit behind then make a couple of birthday cards.
