Hi all,
Yes Ann, it is shameful that we are all so busy and no time to write here.
I am in the process of writing the names and addresses on the BG's Xmas cards. Yes, all your cards are finished and ready to go. You see I go, or at least hope to go, to Spain on Thursday and when I come back it will be December and time to start posting some overseas cards. We don't want the postman weighed down with too many cards just on top of Xmas, do we? I like to post early and that spreads the postman's loads a bit.
I said "hope to go to Spain" because Johan has to see the doctor tomorrow and if she says he cannot go, then we will have to cancel our booking. His blood is not good and he is mooching around the house now which is not like him at all. I too, am not feeling 100%, very dizzy, but think it is the medicine I am taking for cystitis. I have to have another bladder rinse out on Wednesday. It will be heavenly bliss to have two weeks away with no hospitals, doctors, no meals to prepare, no shopping.
My daughter went to London this morning with our grandchildren, Linda of 25 years and Jan of 22 years. Linda phoned me in tears that they had missed their plane - they were shopping at Schiphol and thought the crowd of people in front of them were going on the same plane, but they weren't. They managed to get a plane this afternoon at 4.30 pm and 150 Euros extra to pay, and of course a wasted day. I phoned them a while ago and they were sitting in a pub in Kensington waiting for some dinner, so they are now ok. This trip to London was Johan and my present to Janet for her 50th birthday. She was so looking forward to going.
Well will try and post tomorrow.

Goodness seven days since anyone posted on here, are we all to busy making cards.

I posted a several cards today to USA, NZ and Australia, all had embellishments on them but didn't seem that thick or heavy. four were 81p and the fifth was £1.22 and to me it felt no thicker or heavier than the others. so be aware if posting abroad, the postage makes for expensive cards.

Morning ladies, hope you are all OK and keeping nice and warm. Went to visit my sister yesterday, late afternoon and took me an hour and half to get home as the roads had all flooded in the couple of hours I was there. Nightmare journey home which normally takes 20 mins.

Have any of you been watching Ideal World/Create and Craft over the weekend? 3 day craft extravaganza Saw some lovely new ideas for card making including a card they called a 'push me pull me' card or a double slider, using a plastic bag, great idea. Found it also on you tube

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to a fun filled week without too much housework!

Hi all,
Where has this weekend gone to?
On Friday my eldest daughter and her partner came and they stayed for dinner. We invited my granddaughter too. Janet fetched a Chinese meal for us and our granddaughter took the rest of the meal away with her for her boyfriend who she was picking up from the train. It was nice to have some of the family round the tablet again.
Saturday we had the fish which I was going to cook on Friday had Janet and her partner not turned up.
I have been making more cards, even though I don't really need them. Just in case..............
My neighbour Bibi came down for a chat this morning and wants Johan to help her with some paperwork. She is coming again tomorrow. Her husband has had an attack and cannot use much of his right arm and swallowing is difficult. She told me that she thinks he doesn't even know she is there sometimes. She now has to do everything, even to washing him every day. I am sure she could have the nurse in though but she does this herself. But then there is the paperwork, which is what he used to do. I always do shopping for her if I can.
Not long now before we go to Spain. I do hope the weather will be better. When we come back Xmas will be on top of us.
Jo, you must get a move on with your cards. Now.
See you tomorrow.

Morning everyone, hope you are all keeping nice and warm, weather here horrible at the moment, so windy and torrential rain, hope there isn't any flooding for any of you.

Still have not started my Christmas cards, really must get a move on, need some inspiration I think.

Sylvia, the things you cook sound so much nicer than anything I make, think I will have to take some lessons from you!!
Off to bed now I think.

It is with sadness that I must let you all know that John, the husband of Barbara in Cornwall passed away yesterday. She telephoned me earlier and spoke to my OH as I was out. Will ring her back in the morning as getting a little late now to call.

Barbara, sending you love and will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.

Hi all,
No snow as yet but cold enough for it.
I kept myself warm today by baking. I made two brown and a sultana loaf and a Dutch apple tart for my neighbour and a butter cake - a bit like shortbread for us. I also made a large pan of tomato/vegetable soup with meatballs thrown in. Forget the diets, kilos etc. we must keep warm.
See y ou tomorrow.

For anyone who likes Raymond Briggs The Snowman character. The magazine, Quick cards mad Easy has this month got some Snowman pictures and stickers and a couple of decoupage pictures free in it. So far I have made 12 cards using them. I don't think it is just for those with a subscription.
