Hi all,
Thank you Anne for telling me about your cataract operations. I have read that this is one of the most successful of modern operations there is.
Today I had a hydrocortisone injection in my right arm. I knew the doctor was in the right spot when I nearly went through the roof with pain. I also had an anti flu jab in my left arm - well couldn't have it in the same arm, could I?
The weather is terrible, rain, winds, storm. I think we will be getting snow soon.
I have to have X-rays on my knees on Friday afternoon.
Anne, I am sure you can come up with that little extra just to make your card different from your sister in law. Just try. Sometimes when I cannot think of something I just leave it. I have been known to spend all Sunday cutting, gluing etc. and then nothing. The next day full of inspiration.
Anyway lots of luck.

Hi, everyone.

I've jsut spent thelast hour catching up with 3 months posts! I hadn't ralised that it was so long since I was on here last,

Sylvia, I had 2 cataract ops within 6 weeks a couple of years ago, and can highly recomment them. I was so shortsighted all my life, and the consultant put in a new lens made up to my prescription. I can now read the titles at the botton of the TV screen while I'm in bed. I could hardly see the TV itself before the operation.

I'm well on the way to finishing my Christmas cards, but I have to make one for my sister-in-law in 2 weeks. They bought me the pergamon kit for Christmas, so I ought to make one for her. She's so much better at it than I am, which puts me off!

Love to all and welcome to Shemp.

Love

Anne

Hi all,
Well I have got you all thinking again I see. One of you has 33 'girls' on their list, some 32 and others 34. What a dim lot we are!
Today it has been pouring with rain all day. My granddaughter, bless her, popped in for a little while. She was off for a meal with her father.
My new tablets for cystitis make me feel horribly sick, but I am trying to finish the "cure". It is only for 7 days!
Tomorrow the doctor is going to give me an injection in my right shoulder for the pain. In the afternoon Johan and I have anti-flu injections, so must give my left arm up.
I have had such a bad week that I talked it over with Johan over cancelling our forthcoming holiday. I said going in a taxi to the airport will be a disaster as I have to go to the toilet so often, then on the plane!
Apart from the sickness and pain today has not been so bad - toiletwise I mean.
I have to make an appointment with the hospital for X-rays of both my knees.
Now that was my medical analysis. I want to prick some cards out to take with me to my craft lesson on Tuesday afternoon.
Keep well everybody.

I make all sorts from peel offs to those with bought toppers to homemade toppers, to using parts of old cards, stamping, punching, decoupage you name it. But there are those on here who make even more intricate ones, tea bag folding, iris folding etc etc.

Hi Shemp, don't think i have spoken to you before but everyone is welcome to join. Jo who 'leads' the birthday girls group on GR is away at the moment but I am sure she will pick your post ip later and let you know how we operate.

I have done stitching cards in the past but find it a bit too slow for me and, as I get older, it makes my eyes tired, but some of them are lovely and so intricate. Do you use counted cross stitch?

In Cornwall for the week!! Weather has been lovely today, but now raining!

Sylvia will send out a new list, will try and make as big as possible for you, might mean leaving the hobbies column out?

Issy asked me to post on here for her, she has read the posting but cannot add.
She asked me to give you all her best wishes especially Sylvia hope the doctors can help you.

Ros, sounds like you have had a lovely time!!

Good advice regarding the cards Ann, I made that mistake last year!!!! If you want to 3d make sure you only use 1mm foam pads or silicone you can squidge down (technical term!!)

Keep warm and safe everyone

Those of you in the UK don't forget not to make your Christmas cards too thick, not so bad with birthday cards but having to pay large stamps for all the christmas cards would be a bit much.

Jo, so there are and I counted them twice. I will cross Eagles and Penelope off my list, although I sent them both cards this year. No problem with that it was still their birthdays.!!

Just checked and I had crossed eagles off but the line was very faint. so I have 32 now.

Ann, there is 34 on your list!!

The spread sheet I sent out in July definitely only has 32 members.

Eagles left back in May and I have taken Penelope off following her mail in January saying that she had taken time out last year and I have not heard from her since, so I am assuming that as yet she still does not want to rejoin.
So that brings it down to 32, excluding these two we have the same list. I will send out new spread sheets to everyone in the next week just to ensure that we all have the same ones,

Hi all,
I still count 34 members Jo, perhaps, when you have time, we could have a new list, with a bigger letter please.
I spent all morning making cards again whilst the washing machine was doing the washing. I wish my help would phone and say she was better as the flat badly needs vacuuming. She has migraine. I was going to clean the fridge out and the oven but Johan won't let me and tells me that is what my help is for. Ok, more cardmaking, suits me.
Tomorrow I have booked a taxi to take us into town to the market. I hope it is not so cold as it was today. What an icy wind, just like that from Siberia, and it seems winter has come early.
My daughter is making Xmas wreaths already at a course this evening. I think it is a bit early.
Now girls, keep warm, long underwear, don't be shy.

Jac, very late but hope you had a lovely birthday with lots of lovely cards.

Sylvia, unless I have miscounted I think we only have 32 members at the moment, if anyone thinks differently, please let me know.

Sorry to hear that you have problems with your eyes, but if it is cataracts I am sure they will soon have them sorted for you, good eyesight is so important.

You all seem to be doing so well with your Christmas cards I'm still making cards for my daughters auction.

Hope everyone is keeping well

Hi all,
Well I have had a nice day making Xmas cards. I think I have made some 10 today. I don't really know how many I have to make until I go through my address book. I know I have 34 for the BGs, but then I have our family and friends.
I have another problem now. The doctor found something wrong with my eyes and thinks I have cataracts. If so, this will mean another op in the not too distant future for me. My eyes are so important to me.
Have a nice evening.

I have now started my Christmas card, have taken over the dining room table like I did last year as it is easier to spread out there. OH is very patient. I found I had 20 cards left over from last year so that was a good start. They will all have to be the hand delivered ones though as they would need a large stamp (probably why they were left over). Been lazy today though and not done any.

Happy birthday to your grandson.

Sylvia, omg how many cards do you make :)
My hubby wouldn't let me have a card rack, he says I take up too much room as it is.I've just bought the latest xstitcher mag and decided to get my sewing box out, he's not pleased, as I've yet to clear all my paper off dining room table tut tut :))

Happy crafting everyone

Sylvia, like you I have made the Birthday Girls cards made for most of the year, but thats about all, really need to get my finger out and start some Xmas cards. Hope the doctor can sort out your pain relief, makes life so much better when you are free of pain, pity you cannot take them all the time.

It is lovely and sunny here today as well, my garden is desperate for a tidy up, think I might need to get someone in as I cannot bend down at the moment with these dizzy spells, have a tendency to fall over!!!! lol

So for me I am off to see my grandson who is one today then hopefully will get some time to make some cards have promised to make 2 boxes of cards for a charity coffee morning for breast cancer so must at least get some started.

Have a lovely day all of you.
