I `m just worried my cutting won`t be accurate!

that`s probably what I mean , but wasn`t sure of the terminology. I mean on the front of a card -there are sometimes squares or other shapes with decoupagge or embellishments on top. Ros xx

Sorry Rosalyn, I don't understand the question, probably just me being thick, head still not right!!
Are you asking about matting and layering blocks?

Sylvia, Stacey left the group ages ago, do you want me to send you the current list?
The pears you cooked sound delicious and so does the beetroot.
Sylvia have lots of stitching patterns, if you would like copies of any, send me and email.

Ann hope you had a lovely holiday, at least it should have been lovely and warm there.

Ginnie, weather here has been awful, rain and quite windy.

How do you cut exact sizes for cards --eg small square or rectangle on top of card then add embellishment to give depth?
Thanks , Ros xx

Well a cold wet day here, but I had to go out because I had joined the card-making class at our local craft shop and today was the first lesson.
Well there were supposed to be six of us but two didn't come so we were with 4 - just nice, more attention for each individual.
I started on an embroidered card while the others made a snowman card.
I must get my winter windjack out as I was cold today, even though I had a jumper on. I mustn't put too many winter things on as there will be no extras left when winter comes,

Hoi all,
Well we have much the same weather as you, beautiful during the day, with the sun quite warm and the evenings too cold. The sky with the sun setting in the evening is very picturesque. I am making Xmas cards, cards, cards, cards, in fact dream of xmas cards. I want them more or less finished before I go on holiday otherwise it will be too much of a rush for me.
The pain I had in my right shoulder did slow me down a bit. The doctor wouldn't give me an injection only tablets, and they are taking far too long to work for me. I want to make my Xmas cake this week sometime.
I asked Johan to help me cut up 2 kilos of stewing pears, which I stewed in a bottle of red wine and cinnamon. They are now in the freezer.
Two of the women who live here who have an allotment gave me some of the new kind of beetroot. These are a much lighter colour and don't "bleed" like normal beetroot do. I have cooked these and also added to freezer. These two women do all the work themselves on the allotment and sometimes sleep in the little house on the allotment. One is in her eighties but cycles everywhere, even a cycling holiday abroad!
The younger lady still works and is related somehow to the elder lady. They have a lovely large black cat, who goes with them in a basket on the back of their bikes to the allotment and loves it. They are very anti car and live as close to nature as possible.
Keep stitching girls.

Can somebody tell me what happened to Stacey? I had a birthday card returned to me which I sent her ages ago, but has just come back.

Morning girls,

Jill good luck with the invite making.
Ginnie, I went to the NEC last year, WOW, so much stuff and new ideas.Hope you get some nice things.
I'm trying to get myself organised with all my cards, I don't think I've missed anyone, but I always panic, so I've decided to do a box for each of the groups I'm in, hopefully it will work :)

Happy crafting everyone

Evening everyone!!

Like you Ginnie the weather here has been awful today so cold!!

Jill, how lovely to be married and have the christening at Loch Lomond, so beautiful there. Do you know what you are doing for the cards? I really struggle to get ideas, fine once I sort them out in my head, but until then really struggle. Lovely to hear that your kitchen is nearly finished.

Sylvia, at least you have started on your Xmas cards me I am still trying to catch up on my birthday cards. Still haven't made my 2 grandsons cards as they will both be one, one this week and one in a fortnight, again lack ideas what to do.

Lynne, sending you hug xx

Good morning to you all from a lovely sunny Maine et Loire, its a bit cool in the mornings but summer has now started :))

The tiler is due this morning to finish the kitchen and I am very pleased with how it has turned out . Having white fronts with the dark granite flecked with blue has lifted the room and made it lighter. Was worried it wouldn't work with all the old oak beams and stairs that are also in the kitchen but it looks good. I am a very happy bunny :))
Need to get on with some cards and also have some wedding invites to make, its a joint wedding and christening at Loch Lomond .Our eldest daughter is getting married next June and having Kyle done straight after the service, things are very different now !! used to be wedding then christening at least a few months after :))

Hope everyone's keeping well

xx Jill

Jojo thanks for letting us know.

Not seen Ann in Gloucs around for a while, hope you are ok Ann, or are you on holiday? xx

Sylvia, sounds like you are getting a head start on your xmas cards.

Off to pack my craft bag, I'm going to an open afternoon with a friend, for the local council. Not quite sure what I'll be doing, so if I pack everything I'll have lots to choose from :)

Take care

Hi all,
I seem to have lost part of my text from earlier, so here goes at finishing it.
The foam pads you are using Lyne could be old and then the only thing to do is either throw them away or put a thin strip of double-sided tape on them.
I did think about my Xmas cake yesterday, but that is as far as I got . I'm trying to plan things to do before I go on holiday and things to do when I come back. I have some 50 Xmas cards made but stilll a long way to go.
See you tomorrow.

Hi all,
First of all condolences to Lynne on losing her mother.
The weather here is still bright and sunny but with a certain nip in the air. I read on the calendar that it is Autumn next week. I suppose we will be altering the clocks - then we will really believe that summer is over.
Today I baked 3 bread - two brown and one white and made a chocolate-fruit cake.
I am now going to go further with my Xmas cards.

Sylvia, sounds like you had a lovely Friday, although myself I never eat fish but I do cook it a lot for my OH as he loves it. Not sure about the smoked eel though really do not think I could cook that, bit like his steak and kidney, can manage the steak but not the kidney, he has to do that bit himself!!

Lovely evening, just got back from taking the dog for a walk, lovely clear night, but turning chilly.

Jill your kitchen sounds lovely, you are almost finished now only the sorting out to do, I found I threw lots of things away when I put mine back, was quite ruthless, OH says I should be the same with my crafting things I don't use. But you never know they may come in useful one day!!

Heather, thanks for asking its taken a while to get back to normal, almost three weeks, now just need to catch up on my card making.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Hi all,
Oh I am so pleased that it is Saturday tomorrow and I don't have to set the alarm clock. Not that that makes a lot of difference to me nowadays as I switch the thing off and then still have to rush around after Johan has pulled the duvet from me!
I went to the market this morning and bought some smoked eels. I bought six and will freeze 3 in as they are so fatty, but ooh so nice. I also bought raw herrings which we had for lunch and also some mixed pieces of fish which were marinating in a sauce which we had for dinner. I had to have something easy for dinner as our pedicurist came at 4.30, so when she had finished there would be little time for cooking. We've had a real "fishy" Friday!
Johan had been chasing around for me looking at those reclining chairs which throw you out of the chair and also a new scootmobile etc. etc. this afternoon.
I noticed on the market that the winter foodstocks are filling the stalls, though still an abundance of fresh beans.
Our central heating is doing overtime as it is so cold here in the evenings. In fact I think I'll get my winter coat out tomorrow as I was cold with just my summer windjack today.
JoJo. Maybe your dizziness is due to you ear or ears. I often suffer this and my balance is uneven. I'm ok now that they have put a new grommit in my ear, otherwise you would think I had had too much to drink!
Jill, Your kitchen sounds fab and it will be ready for Xmas. Are you giving a party to celebrate the kitchen?
See you tomorrow.
I badly owe a friend on here an e-mail and I keep putting it off because I want it to be a nice one and not a hurried one. On the other hand she may think otherwise and I wouldn't want her to think that. I first met her in England last year, so if she reads this she will know who she is.
