It sounds like a fax tone, especially if it's the Uni. They could have set it to automatic but put in the wrong number.

Still scary when it happens though.

UPDATE SEE NEWEST POST

For almost an hour , every ten mins or so, my home phone has been ringing. When ive answered its silence followed by a series of high beeps.. Ive been putting the phone down almost straight away (just in case).

Ive rung 1471 and got the number which after googling it is Loughborough University .

Now is this a random dialler from the uni or something more sinister (which costs money)

Got a bit upset so phoned hubby, and not had a call since 20 mins ago.

Uni has an email addy, I may mail them & take out my anger that way
