AnnCardiff Report 3 Jun 2008 17:36

not only is poor Foxy suffering but he's putting other wildlife and domestic pets at risk too - contact your local newspaper - you may well find they are more interested than the RSPCA and maybe you could try ringing a farmer and see if he'll put it out of it's misery - farmers hate foxes anyway, he might actually enjoy doing it in a sick sort of way!!

no email back from my friend as yet but have emailed a group called the fox project based in kent but thought they could advise better.

i know i was talking about a pet but my point was that we reported it daily for about 2 weeks and it was being abused and couldnt escape....they just didnt care.
My brother in law worked for a place that taught ''unruly'' kids to garden etc and he often had to help foxes on their way. If you know of anywhere that does something similar one of them might be able to help?

tory

tory Report 3 Jun 2008 17:24

so your in the middle of a city or town then Taff with no farms or anything ?
If so then Enviromental Health first thing in the morning and make lots of noise :-))

tory

tory Report 3 Jun 2008 17:21

Loulou with all due respect you are talking about a pet not a wild animal that needs to fend for itself and that is differant if the fox has mange that is so bad the RSPCA when and if they get there will distroy it ............BUT in the mean time it is suffering and so if a gamekepper can be contacted to help distroy the animal quickly then that is the humane thing to do :-))

Taff

Taff Report 3 Jun 2008 17:18

unfortunatly not tory, The private householders are really not interested.and thats their perogative.

LouT

LouT Report 3 Jun 2008 17:16

we rang RSPCA about my sister in laws fathers dog (if u got any of that) it was in a terrible state. they came once and gave him a weeks notice.....said the dog was fine and left again. My sister in law took the dog one day when her dad had gone away and left the dog to be looked after by some one who terrorised it. I took it got it back to health and rehomed it as far away as i could. Lou x

tory Report 3 Jun 2008 17:15

But isn't that the problem when its caught !!!!
In the mean time it is suffering !
Is there not a private land owner about that you could contact and ask for help ?

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 3 Jun 2008 17:14

I must say I despair of the RSCPA sometimes, they really should have responded by now or they don't deserve their name - prevention of cruelty to animals - feral or otherwise

LouT

LouT Report 3 Jun 2008 17:13

I think they will probably destroy it but i read that treatments can be given and they can go off out and be normal again. The RSPCA will do their best though. My grandfather was a game keeper and i know he would just have shot it and as much as i do not agree with that in some ways its probably best. it isnt up to any of us to decide.....the appropriate people will make the decision.
