Sorry to hear of your loss. It's not an easy time and we found a month ago with mum that it was the music that was the hardest part of the arrangements.

Take care,
Jacky

Alison

Very sorry to hear your news, sending you my deepest sympathies.

Have you tried on here

wikipedia.org

has a list of songs that Frank recorded from 1939 -1994 (long list though) but hopefully it is there.

Good Luck!

Hi Alison

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, at my dad's funeral we played "That's Life" at the end of the service which was quite apt as it's about a journey through life. I've just been listening to it again on youtube and it's brought tears to my eyes.

So sorry to hear of your loss Alison.....
my condolences to you all,

was it this one?

September of my years?

One day you turn around, and it's summer
Next day you turn around, and it's fall
And all the winters and the springs of a lifetime
Whatever happened to them all
As a man, who as always had the wandering ways
I keep looking back to yesterdays
'Til a long forgotten love appears
And I find, I'm sighing softly as I near
September, the warm September of my years
As I man, who has never pauses at wishing wells
Now I'm watching children's carousels
And their laughter's music to my ears
And I find, that I'm smiling gently as I near
September, the warm September of my years
- The golden warm September of my years

That was nice Maggy.

Well I looked to see what was number one when they were married it was - Hermans Hermits - Im into something good. Which is a bit upbeat for the occasion but we are looking for something that has some meaning like your Mum did.

Sorry to hear about your dad Alison. I lost my dad in April so know what you are going through. We couldn't make our minds up what song to have at dad's funeral, so eventually mum decided have one of the hymns from their wedding service.

My condolances to you and your family.

You could go on youtube and type in Frank Sinatra and listen to his songs on there to see if you recognise it.

Although I think it was "It was a very good year"

Try this Alison...

It Was a Very Good Year Lyrics
Artist(Band):Frank Sinatra Review The Song (0)
Print the Lyrics

Complimentary "It Was a Very Good Year" Ringtone

When I was seventeen
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was seventeen

When I was twenty-one
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls
Who lived up the stair
With all that perfumed hair
And it came undone
When I was twenty-one

When I was thirty-five
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means
We'd ride in limousines
Their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-five

But now the days are short
I'm in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine
From fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs
It poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year

It was a mess of good years

If you dont find the exact one Alison, I'm sure he would be happy at whatever you choose for him.

You could maybe put up a thread for Frank Sinatra fans. I'm sure somebody will know all the song's.
That's if the others on here havent found it for you.

I had Scottish ones at my Dad's in April and I could hear him sing to them ;)) I'm sure he would have loved what we had chosen.
