Oh, you mean that she had been told in advance what to say on the telly?

As far a pasta is concerned, we decided to plant our own this year, to save money. Does anyone know when it is ready for harvesting? Presumably we will be a bit behind the Italians, as they are an hour ahead of us, and have a warmer climate.

Peter

Ah that was a statement by a junior treasury minister. I believe that position is also known as scape goat when the cr*p hits the media fan.

Hi Peter,

Makes you laugh doesnt it? But the big guns get the 25% pay rises while the rest of us are lucky if we get 2 %

Sickening,

Sue, you must be wrong, surely. I was watching the BBC Politics Show at lunchtime, and there was a junior Treasury Minister saying we have never had it so good, and we are all much better off than we have ever been.

My OH travels to work every day and it was around £30 a day now it's £40 -£50 depending which garage he goes he's trying to get lodgings in the next few weeks it would be cheaper.... and more peacefull here too! Lol Pamx

The queues at our local petrol station were about 10 cars at each pump aisle I think there's 16 pumps so no doubt he'll be moaning when he gets in today!!!

Margaret

Diesel 131.9p
Unleaded 118.00p

That's approximate in West Wales

Sue

Tx Bob, I'll remember to tell OH that (after he has kicked the side of the car in...lol)

Sue IF you did just that, put unleaded into the diesel, dont panic!

provided that you realised early on. you can get away with it, I once put 17 litres of unleaded into a diesel van.
I was then instructed to put the rest of diesel on top.

54 litres of diesel went in. drove it for about 50 miles and topped up the diesel again, then repeated that.
apparently in the Eastern countries they add some unleaded, allegedly to stop the diesel waxing, in the bitter cold..

Hi Sue, hope you are well love!!

Im appaled at these price rises. OH has to use our car for all his work visits, they get a mileage allowance but soon it isnt going to cover fuel and maintenance on our old wreck!!

I couldnt believe a bag of pasta had doubled in price, from 45p to 92p!!!

As a Canadian, I'd be interested in knowing what you pay for gas (petrol) over there. Ours just went up to about $1.30/litre which is about 65-70p. How does it compare?
