evening all, i was wondering if i was wrong to tell the friends of my neighbours son, theone in question being 19 , about throwing a screwdriver around as a dart, iwas told i should have minded my own. was i wrong to interfere as i was told i was? then they say people dont care. would like to know your views . the mother being at Bingo. nite.

Well, I think I would have said something, especially if it was obvioiusly dangerous. Stupid boy!

I would have had to say something and I would also tell the mother when you see her too. How would you have felt if one of them had lost an eye and you had ignored them?

hi Liz, thats exacly how how i felt. iwas only trying to prevent an accident, but was told i shouldnt have got invovled which in my book means dont care. im not like that so i suppose ill always be in trouble. nite.

Society is about each of us caring for the other; it is not up to the police to monitor and intervene with all our activities. The 19-year-old may have thought he was being tough and skilled; despite his rudeness, he may have realised that you were right, though I doubt he will be man enough to admit it and apologise.

Such is our society, the young seem to think that they can do whatever they like, with no retribution; should anyone else thinks otherwise, then those others are wrong, and they will tell them so quite vociferously. But they should beware - recently, there was a brief police chase where the culprit eventually crashed. He killed one passenger, and severely injured another (a 12-year-old boy). During the chase, I have little doubt that he thought he was the bees knees, and his driving skills were unsurpassed; similarly, his passengers would also be on a high, and urged him on. Now, he has to live the rest of his days knowing that his stupidity killed a friend.

He was lucky the police weren't around he would have been arrested for having a screw driver, could be misconstrude that he had intent to burgle.

I once knocked on my neibours door to tell her that her 2 year old had a hammer and was destroying the fence. Not to mention the fact that he could have had a serious injury. Apparently I disturbed her day time tv and her reaction was to laugh and say oh he's always doing that.
You just can't help some people...Im so glad I dont live there anymore!

Boy next door to us had a fake gun, he was out in the road pointing it etc. We told his mother, but she did not take it away from him.
Another person went and told his mother, that if the police had been informed there was someone with a gun, they could have come round, and he could have been shot.
We never saw it again,

Have you seen his Mum today or heard anything about them being rude to you? Bet he didn't tell his mother you cared about them and were cheeked for your trouble.
