We have an old passat, lots wrong with it but it goes!! Hubbies job means a lot of driving for work and I need it every day too.

It is pulling very badly to the left and has scrubbed two tyres ( on the inside) in 7 weeks. Dad tried to align wheels. Could tracking being out do this much damage?

Take it to a tyre place or somewhere for advice, sounds too dangerous to be roadworthy. If you have an accident and this shows up, your insurance might not cover you as you don't have a roadworthy car.
Be careful

Cheers Liz, it passed MOT only 4 months ago and am wondering whats gone so wrong. Dads going to look tommorow and getting it in garage at end of week, just dont want to be ripped of as we cant afford a big garage bill,

Sorry Caz, just wanted you to be careful, you could get free advice from one of those tyre places, I have done so in the past. Then you know what you are up against, but take care till it goes into garage.

It sounds as though the tracking is out. a common cause of this is when you bump kerbs. Did you say that you drove the car sometimes Caz?

Tracking here in S Yorks costs about £25 at places that offer it

Dad changed tyres around today and is going to align wheels this week, apparently it doesnt happen too often but wheels are out, then i will get it tracked,
