Thanks Sue I will take your advice, I didnt know what to do next, it is so frustrating.
I knew someone would come up with an answer. I am also grateful for the other Genes helpers.

Here is my suggestion.
It works for me so it might be helpful to you.

I have the Genopro tree program on my computer. I know there are other good ones but this is the one I started with and I like it. There is a free version which I used happily for several years and I have since updated to the paid version which has some extra gizmos.
www.genopro.com

So get a good program of your choice installed.

Then export your Genes tree to your computer and into your tree program.

My one allows me to highlight an individual and all that person's ancestry (among various options). I can then copy that section to another tree. Any number of different trees can be made.

My program then allows me to do a print preview and change things around until I like how it appears and it tells me how many pages it will fit on.

Big trees will need a lot of paper whatever you do. I recently sorted out my husband's maternal ancestors to share with some of his cousins and that needed 12 sheets of A3.....fortunately my husband has an A3 printer.

Good luck

Sue

I think I will get a roll of wallpaper and cut out all these bits of pages and stick them on, in order, then the parts I cant get printed ,hand write them.
I have family members interested, but in their line, and that was why I was just wanting to print that section.
Anyway ,thankyou very much for your help and advice,
I think I will just go and watch Big Brother.( joking)

TBH Irene once I'd printed it I found it a bit hard knowing what to do with it!
i'm actually trying to draw it out by hand at the moment. Which isn't as easy as it seems.

I have already printed my tree a couple of years ago Sally, and like you say it was half and half boxes, but at least I was able to print what I wanted which I dont seem to be able to now.
I am surprised noone else seems to find this a problem, and feel I must be missing a link somewhere.

I know which parts I want but when I press the print button it shows the chart tiny, then I cant see where I want,if that makes sense

The worst thing I found with printing my tree Irene was that a lot of the boxes had half on one page and half on another. So sticking them together was fun!

Thanks Sue,I am now getting part of what I want,by right clicking the mouse and printing from that option, but the print is huge and I cant get all of the screenpage in print,I feel sure there must be an easier way than this.
I reduced the setting on the page for printing, but that didnt make the print smaller

Can you not figure out which parts you need by looking at your full tree in another window?

Thanks for your help Sally, but I still dont seem to be getting anywhere. When I get the whole tree on screen and a message says to roll over preview panel and choose which pages,it is so small I cant read it,so then I try zooming in,to find that is not the area I want. I am spending my time zooming in and out,and still havent got anywhere.
I managed ok with the old system

Hi,as Sally says if you get tree up with the arrows showing then just below the arrows, it says print, as you select sections that is the order that will be printed, but if you have too many names on your, like i have then the print option is no longer available.

When you get the tree up I found that if you clicked on certain parts of it they became highlighted and those were the ones printed. As far as I remember it came up on a grid and each section was an A4 sheet and had numbers and letters in it.
