It is just POSSIBLE that the problem is with number 4 or 6.
Have you installed any new hardware or software recently or have you changed the region of your DVD player?

no but I think a few months ago I took the rom out of the tower to dust it but I put it back right.

eRRolSheep Report 16 Jun 2008 17:33

Is that when it stopped working correctly?

skwirrel 1

skwirrel 1 Report 16 Jun 2008 17:35

around that time it could have been.

eRRolSheep Report 16 Jun 2008 17:39

ok if that is the case it is possible it became damaged in some way when it was taken out.
However, let's try to restore/update the driver.

On the Driver tab click on the "Update driver..." button and then if asked, use the option to search automatically and follow the on-screen instructions.

Is it a desktop or laptop?

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 16 Jun 2008 17:57

LG is the manufacturer.
Did it come with the computer or have you added it since?

eRRolSheep Report 16 Jun 2008 18:01

no luck yet then

eRRolSheep Report 16 Jun 2008 18:08

It wouldn't update the driver so I'll do it the opposite way round Surfmonkey.
It's possible that the driver has become corrupted but rather than use a drive specific one it should be ok with the generic Windows driver.
