hi all, just met my 16yr old grandsons girlfriend today. i feel so aprehensive. their baby my first grt grandaughter who is due in september has downs.im worried about baby coz after her last scan , was told babys chest looks tight. please will you all keep youre fingers crossed my babe is ok. nite godbless. xxxxxx

my daughters friend was told her baby might be downs

she declined the tests

and gave birth to a beautiful daughter

without downs so they can be wrong

these scans are never 100%

I was told my daughter had that extra Chromosome but when she was born she were fine

At her 20 week scan ( if not already had) ask them to check for fluid on the back of the neck and one of the internal organs ( but i can't remember which one)

My granddaughter has down syndrome. She is 22 months old and is on a par with the average child her age. She is a joy to us all - very pretty and girly. We all love her dearly as we do her brothers. All the best.

As has been said before, these scans are sometimes not accurate and often problems rectify themselves.
