I am ashamed to say that I dumped a girl that I really liked 40 year ago, in favour for someone else, who I eventually married.

After 35 years of happy marriage I still feel guilty, when I think back.

Ah Well, c'est la vie.

grannie,

i feel for you so very much, you and me sound similar, we blame ourselves for what our kids do. My second son got headbutted last night because he had spent time with a lass who said she was an ex girlfriend of a lad who comes from a notorious criminal family, she isnt , she lied, so thats the outcome.

I wanted son to involve police, he wont.

Kids?? what hassle do they give us?

My son dumped a girl who would have bee ideal for him and regretted it after she married some one else. Wise girl would not take up with my son again and I am still very friendly with her. It is not your fault that your daughter behaves in this way, and you can only say to her that you think she has behaved badly and then leave the subject alone Jean

Sorry to hear you've had a hard day today. Doesn't sound to me like you are a bad parent though, in fact quite the opposite.

Daughter had been with her boyfriend for 2 years when she just dumped him for another bloke.Of course we were on the defensive as we liked her boyfriend and did not like what she had done.Took ages to get used to new one who was lovely and looked after her much better.(did not ponce and owed no money)Last week she went back to her ex and today her boyfriend came round(he did not know she had gone back to ex)to try and get back with her.Omg it was awful and it has made me feel bad as a parent. Both these blokes have been hurt by my daughter.
