I set up an account ages ago but suspended it, as it just wasn't my cup of tea! I didn't find anyone I was looking for (apart from one with an uncommon surname) and I really can't be bothered with cyber-life that much - it can be a great time consumer!! I guess it's good for people with a wide circle of friends, or those who are housebound a lot of the time.

Hi Ann

I ignore loads of stuff that I get sent and I don't mind in the least if people ignore stuff that I send them! To be honest, they probably won't notice anyway because you don't get notification that people have ignored your request!

With regard to safety, there are good privacy settings which you alone can control, and you can put as little or as much info on as you like.

Mandy :)

Jill, haven't even been in to look at any of the games. Just don't have time this time of year with the garden, card making etc. maybe in the winter???

Ann, I am the same and now only reply to messages rather than all the invites and virtual gifts sent.
I always check scrabble and Twist so always know if I game is on the go.
Still trying to get to grips with it all though :))

I had some requests yesterday, accepted them but then I ended up with all sorts of other stuff, can't keep up with it all so sorry if I seem to ignore folk.

Also I know I owe lots of people replies to emails and pms, just can't keep up with those either at the mo. Head is a bit woolly, too much going on at present.

Thank you all, you have put my mind at rest. I just didn't want to upset anyone.

Daff We had a lovely week, the weather was very mixed, we did have some good weather when we could sit on our patio overlooking the river with a G&T, equally we had some days/evenings when we had the gas fire on. enjoyed it as usual though. i have managed to suss out the wall/video bits but have not ventured anywhere else. i think it is a great site for keeping in touch but don't understand how people have the time to follow up all the invites etc. I think scrabulous is supposed to be scrabble isn't it? probably can't call it scrabble because of copyright.

One day when I am not chatting on here, writing letters, doing the garden, doing my tree, making cards (oh forgot doing the H........, cooking meals, washing etc) I will get around to looking further into it. meanwhile I will just keep chatting. Thanks for your comments.

Lol Ann.... same problem here.... I find it difficult to concentrate on finding my way around when I am having to download new stuff to have a look at or return, and then I find that I have returned them to everyone, not just the person I wanted to return to.... very confusing!!....... some of them I would like to keep, but others well.... I don't understand at all, lol!!

I still haven't quite figured out scrabulous....... and I thought there was scrabble too, but can't find that anywhere....... well, I keep getting sidetracked on the way around!!

Did you have a lovely holiday, by the way??? The weather was a bit grim, wasn't it?

Love

Joanna, I love FB. It is a great social network site and I have tracked down loads of school friends, work mates etc.
It's easy to use, free and fun. (and some of the applications are great.lol)

Don't worry about ignoring application requests, Ann. A lot of applications on facebook force you to invite 20 friends in order to unlock certain things. So some people just invite everyone on their friend list.
I send out loads of app requests and i never care whether my friends take me up on them. (Just realised how annoying it must be for them though so i might limit myself now!!)

I would be very interested to know what anyone thinks about Facebook.
Both my sons spend time on there and say that I should get involved too, but I have read a few negative items in the papers about it, which have made me very cautious.
Can anyone really recommend it?

just click ignore rather than leave as many people send invites to quite alot of people in their friends list when they have added an application

people wont take offence if you ignore and its easy enough to delete all the requests in one go without having to go through them all

I like being able to keep in contact with people and chatting to them on facebook but really don't have time to keep answering all the invitation requests.

will people think i am rude if i ignore them all or should I delete myself from Facebook? I seem to be snowed under with them all and find it all a bit daunting.
