My grandson aged 15 wants a crystal pendent blue. I have been looking on ebay and found some nice single drop necklaces some are very cheap some the austrian ones are dearer. There are also chandelier drops you can get them from flea markets or car boots. take her hunting for them she will remember always if you find them together. Elaine.

Hi Ann,
Here in Chepstow there is a shop in St Mary's street which sells crystals, I have bought several as gifts for friends.

They also sell loads of other things such as nice little gifts which are unusual and essential oils, etc.
They are not too expensive, from about £6 upwards depending on size.
Good luck.

Talking of fire hazards, may I just remind you all never to leave aerosol cans like hairspray, air freshener etc on windowsills or where the sun can heat them up, as they too can cause explosions and fire.

On of my daughters has a crystal hanging in the back, south-facing window. She bought it in the health food/ medicine shop where she used to work.We have never seen any signs of scorch marks, but will tell her about the eventual fire hazard, useful to know, thanks for that tip.

Sheila, no, no shops left in the docks at the moment. Had a spiritualist type shop in town until at least 3 weeks ago but went there today and it is closed!!

I will bear in mind the fire risk though and mention it to DiL.

thank you for your replies.

Diana, she want it for her birthday (6) next month.

Chica, thank you for the tip.

Ann I used to have prisms as they are usually
called, had them in the conservatory found
brown marks on the wall then realised they
scorch marks !! would she be happy with litte
ornaments made from gold coloured with
crystals, you can get them as butterflies,
churches, peacocks etc; very collectable, my lot
used to buy me one as pressies, the same
effect when the sun hit them, but safer.

Ann, go to a health shop (not Holland & Barretts) and ask if they know anyone working with crystals. I work with crystals and it is important that your granddaughter chooses her own, then it will be special to her and she will always love it. If she is looking for something to hang up then a pendulum might be a good idea. A quartz crystal pendulum will "glitter" beautifully! Also look on line some are just a couple of pounds.

but somebody told me

they could be a fire hazard

if they reflected the suns rays on to paper ect

To hang in a window.

Granddaughter wants a crystal to hang in her window so she can see rainbows. Been all over Gloucester with no luck. Anyone any ideas, I don't want it to be too expensive as she is only 6.

just going out now, be back later to see if anyone has a suggestion.
