Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.

If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.

If it changes your life, let it.

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I'm sorry if you are going through a bad patch in your life Puss. When that happens it's very hard to see past it and to imagine life will ever be happy again.

How many times have you been asked how you are and replied "Fine Thanks" when in reality life isn't going well? I think many people who look as if they are living a great life or seem to be sailing through life calmly may in fact have struggles and difficulties of their own.

All I can say is that nothing lasts forever. The bad times and the good times go in cycles and we need to enjoy happy moments when they happen.

I hope life brings you happiness soon.

Puss

The question is....is your cup half full or half empty ?

if your cup is half empty, it may appear to you that those who are having a happier time at the moment in life are boasting, as you are viewing them or their actions in a negative way, (If you are having a hard time its difficult seeing those who are happy)

It doesnt mean that those people are not having tough times as well, its just they are trying not to dwell on them, and its unfair to pass judgement because they appear to be happier than you at present.

I for one am pleased to see people having happy times and speaking about it on the board.

It lifts the mood, and far better then grumbling about that half empty cup .

I don't think anyone has a perfect life either but I don't think there's anything wrong with emphasising the positive stuff

Sue in Somerset

Sue in Somerset Report 30 Jun 2008 17:25

I don't think I know anyone with a perfect life either. Even the rich and famous don't appear to necessarily be any happier because of it.

I think sometimes we need the difficult and sad times to make us appreciate the happy and good ones.

Just about everyone has times when they wish they could change something about their lives. I dream of a house right by the sea and hope one day live in one like that.

But I've a lot of things to be very grateful for. On three occasions my husband has been so seriously ill that I was told he wouldn't survive the night. So three times I've known the absolute misery of how it feels to think he is dying. But he is still with me.

Caring for my sick husband meant the teaching career I had planned didn't happen but I've developed new interests I can do at home and my glass engraving is coming on nicely.

I've two lovely daughters who've grown into sensible and caring young women.

Then when I see the horrors of life for some poor souls in parts of the world affected by hunger, natural disasters, war or persecution I think none of us with homes and food should complain.

I'd still like the sea view though! LOL

Awe Jean, you are so right. Perhaps we put too much emphasis on material possession rather than our personal well being.

There are just two things in life that I want...one is my childrens health and the other is for happiness ...as for the rest ...not interested...xxxxxx

I live in a bedsit. I have a television and computer and not much else. No gold jewellery, no car. I have worked hard all my life and, for reasons I wont go into now, have ended up on the poverty line.

But all these things are immaterial. I have complete independence and don't have to answer to anyone. I come and go as I please.
Living in London I have a freedom pass which enables me to travel anywhere in the Capital free of charge. To me this is as close to perfection as I would ever need.

If I wake up in the morning and I am breathing and feel well enough to face the day I am happy.

The most valuable things I have are good friends and money can't buy them for you:)

I think I know what you mean, Puss. When people constantly go on about how perfect their lives are etc etc. I do wonder why they have to keep reminding us! lol I love my life, but don't wish to go on about it, especially if I know others are having a tough time. XXX BC
