at our evening reception we put a disposable camera on every table and let the guests take the photos - they were just left on the tables for us to collect at the end of the evening. Had some great photos of guests that I would have never had got - also got quite few pics of feet and fingers though.

A friend of mine was strapped for cash, so asked everyone for copies of the photo's they had taken...they were great and cost nothing.

Hiya Blue Eyes... I was going to suggest the same as GG.... but also, what about asking at the nearest college that has a photography course as part of it's prospectus? You may still have to pay... but not an astronomical amount!

ps, does young Kate on GR live near you???? She is just starting her own business, so might be interested???? and of course, she would have the advertising when you post on the web, lol!!

I am not sure if she does weddings.... but you could pm her and find out?

How awful for you (and for him too!)
I hope you manage to find a replacement that you can afford in time.
Weddings scare me - too much to organise! Good luck.

Do you have an amatuer photography group in your area. My brother in law is a member of one and I was abit dubius at first as I wanted nice photos and I wasn't sure of his photographic capabilities, but on the day he turned up with 2 of his mates and they did a beautiful job, I couldn't have asked for better photos and they didn't charge me a penny they just did it for the experience.

My wedding photographer has just phoned up, 2 weeks ago he had his car taken and it contained his photography equipment, the police found his car, but guess what !! yep easy one really his equipment is gone, and it gets worse........ because he had left it unlocked his insurers are refusing to pay out to replace it.
I now no longer have a photographer for my wedding in 8 1/2 weeks time..
The really bummy thing is, his photos were going to be free and I'm not sure we can swing extra money to cover another one....

Gonna go off and number crunch..
