Being high up, looking through black railings down on the sea where there were red boats and wanting my Daddy to take me on them and he didn't! Apparently it was the Isle of Man and I was a couple of weeks short of my 2nd birthday!

Jen
I was told that the new baby came in the doctor's leather bag - I had three brothers and really wanted a sister - the doctor told me that he didn't have any girls left so had to bring me a brother - was I disappointed?

Hi Anne,

Being from Scotland you may remember these!!
I too was about 3 years old and my dad had me down the town and he needed the toilet.
In those days they had mens toilets in the street on the pavements. Well my dad took me in with him as he didn't want to leave me outside on my own.
It was just one long urinal and all the men were standing doing a wee. I just looked as I had never seen mens private bits before and I was so shocked, will never forget that to this day.
