Merry Christmas to you too Helen. The show was great tonight and as you say nice to see the past winners performing.

Who'll be on Strictly next year?

Keep Dancing!!!

for me it was the best edition of Strictly so far and I do agree - Tom should have gone last week, although at the beginning I had thought he had the making of a winner. Has to be said too that the female professionals have a harder job because it's the male celeb who has to lead. I did think Tom's winning dance was the better of the two although Rachel has been consistently better than him all through the series

Wow what a fantastic show.

Loved the dance of the 4 past winners, they certainly did entertain us. I'm so pleased for Camilla, it was about time she won, I think she is a brilliant dancer.
I wanted Tom to win ever since the series started and I'm so pleased he did.

this series has been fantastic and I'd like to thank all of you that have contributed to this thread. It has been a pleasure talking to you all and you have helped me to get a thread to 300 postings.

Wishing you all a fantastic Christmas and New year
and Roll on Sept 2009 and the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

KEEP DANCING.

love

As you can see by my reply just above yours Mau at the Coast, I feel exactly the same way but Hey, it's just a competition and we all live to fight another day !!

Mauatthecoast Report 20 Dec 2008 22:19

I am gutted!!! :O(

Rachel and Vincent had the highest scores and came second!! I can't believe it! I loved Tom and Camilla's show dance but sorry they should have gone last week,I feel sorry for Lisa and Brendan too.

Tom won by popularity contest and fans. Sorry but that's how I feel about it.

Margaret Report 20 Dec 2008 22:18

The choreography for the show dance is what won it for Tom tonight. To be fair his normal dancing wasn't actually his best and I do feel for Rachel who, although did not do as good a showdance, actually danced better in the competition. However, he's won and that's that BUT I still stick to what I said in an earlier thread, as he was bottom of the leader board and should have had a dance-off last week and was bottom of the leader board this week, this has surely tainted the win a bit for him. I know if it was me I would feel that way. There are bound to be rumblings. Let's hope the Beeb sort things so that this situation cannot occur again. They need a set a guidelines for most eventualities to keep the credibility of the show and the support of the public. See you all for next year's shows.

never thought I'd say it but it has to be Tom and Camilla - that show dance was utterly fantastic - worthy of the West End stage - brilliant, brilliant and just brilliant!!!!

FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC.

Tom's show dance was so awesome, funny and brilliant.

Margaret, what an excellent idea, being taught by one of the pro's, well for me it would have to be Brendan, he can take me in his arms at any time.

Really feel for Tom and Camilla after he tripped tonight, Was pleased that lisa and Brendan got 40's for both of their dances. I think that we should be able to see all of the show dances and not just the final 2.

You and me both Mau at the Coast. I watch very very little tv - no soaps, no x-factor, no cemebrity get me out of here etc. etc. I enjoy Midsommer Murders, Taggart and used to love Morse, but the highlight of my viewing is the 12 weeks of Strictly. I must admit though in all honesty that I have not enjoyed this series as much as the previous ones. It has seemed a trifle too long with too much controversy. However, as long as there's Strictly I'll be watching. Would love to be taught by one of the professionals, particularly a couple of the Latin dances. Being ab le to dance well must be a great confidence booster.

RACHEL and VINCENT to WIN!!!! ...best couple by far ..consistantly good.....imo,but i've loved all the dances tonight.,all the couples have done really well to get to final night.

I just love Strictly....my votes are in :O))

Oh dear I'll be having withdrawl symptons afterwards!

Have also managed to watch the show. Was rather surprised at some of the marks awarded, and enjoyed seeing the past contestants again......... and didn't John Sargeant get a rousing reception !! Have done my bit and voted.... 10 times again !! Heaven help my phone bill. Look forward to the comments from others later.

Have watched the first part and voted!

Very exciting. I want to see all three "Show Dances", but you can't have everything.

Off for P+T (as my Mum used to say)

I will be watching tonight (of course) trying not to hold my breath.

Austin had been my favourite ( for his dancing) and Christine B (for her lovely smile and determination).

As neither of them are in the Final, I don't really mind who wins. Just hope that nerves don't get the better of any of the couples.

I don't think that Vincent is all that popular with the viewing public (not the ones I have spoken to anyway) and wonder if this will effect Rachel's chance of winning.

Will not be answering the phone or knock at the door, while the prog. is on. Don't have a pet that will demand a feed etc. So will be able to concentrate on Strictly.

Next year I would like Adrian Chiles to be a contestant, any one else with suggestions?

Happy viewing,

Tess

Well not long to go now before we have the answer we have been waiting weeks and weeks for. I am looking forward to it b ut at the same time, don't know if I dare to watch....... !!! I think 3 in the final is greater entertainment but must confess to not being entirely happy about the way they maneouvered the situation to ensure this. They should have shiffled things about after John Sargeant left and it would not have caused so much controversy. As it is many consider Tom should have taken his chance in the dance-off which, even if he wins, must tarnish the win for him. I have my favourite but do not think she will win - I have a feeling she will be third. Hey ho, I'll do my bit and vote and then its all in the lap of the Gods !! Enjoy everybody.

Well I watched ITT last night, and think that Tom had been at the old falling down water. As he was last, think he had been bending his elbow in the green room.
Poor Camilla had to tell him to be quife, he was slurring his speech. reminded me of my late fil who was just like it when he was three sheets to the wind.

I would like to see Rachel win, she has done so well. but there, they all have, and think it is anyones this year.

Think one of the hightlights for us, was when Brendan chomped off, and Lisa was left adjusting ber boobs. We did laugh.

We will be in front of TV tonight. answer phone switched on. Do not dare to phone me in the middle of it all. Our chocolates, fruit, sweets all on hand. Hoping cat will not want to be fed in the middle of it all.

What are we going to do when it is over, I always have withdrawal symptons.

Anyway - Keep Dancing.

Forgot to answer a question further back, possibly because I don't visit the site so much - no, I was still just as excited on the Sunday evening but I just couldn't wait till then to know what had happened ... :-)
I subscribe to, and read the digital spy site forums, and there was a "spoiler" on there from someone at the show able to send a message; so one didn't have to read it if one didn't want to know the result.

Looking forward to the programme tonight; loved ITT last night.

Helen1959 Report 20 Dec 2008 09:38

Ok folks just under 12 hours to go, till we get the results of this years Strictly.
Sorry I haven't had chance to comment on last weeks show, I've been mega busy at work this week and I just didn't have the energy to sit at the puter for very long of a night time.

Lisa and Brendan's Tango was just superb, I think the best dance of the series.

I was abit disappointed with Tom's and Camilia's Jive I thought it would of been more polished than it was.

Rachel and Vincent's Tango was good, but not as good as Lisa's.

Lisa and Brendans quickstep was very excellent, not as good as earlier in the series, but that could be because they had to do 2 dances.

Tom and Camillia's Tango was ok again it lacked the 100% passion that I thought they would of put into it.

Rachel and Vincent's smooth also lacked the oomph that I was expecting.

Well as to the result that happened, I think it was definatley a cock up, the beeb realised at the last minute that there wouldn't be a male in the final and that wouldn't bring in good viewing figures, so they decided that they would mess with the public and the dancers and make them sit on the edge of their seats that little bit longer.

As to who will win? Well my heart has always been with Tom since the start of the series as I love him. But my head thinks it will probably be Rachel that wins, but that all depends on how well she performs with regard to the injury that the press are saying she has.
If Tom doesn't win then I would like Lisa and Brendan to do it. I do like Brendan and I think that Lisa is the most improved celebrity of the 3 of them.

See you all later.

Yes Ann of Green Gables - I agree with you. That 'show dance' was to me more suited to a variety hall act - it was much more about acrobatics than dancing. Brilliantly done and a very loose limbed couple, but it didn't appeal to me as a dance at all.
