a brilliant show from end to end - loved the cast from Chicago doing "All that Jazz" and the dancing was brilliant, although I thought that one professional couple were more like circus performers or acrobats than dancers - that wasn't dancing as I know it. Did you notice behind June Whitfield was the Duchess of Kent and Princess Beatrice!!

Well when I said earlier that I didn't want anyone to go tonight. I didn't think that I would get my wish, and no-one WOULD leave.

I wonder if the Judges were in on the secret? And what about Bruce? He looked quite bewildred to me.

The contestants would not be told, as that may have effected their performance.
It was so good to see the delight on all their faces.
We were all treated to a demonstration of "jumping for joy"!

Looking forward to watching next week. It should be really exciting with three couples at the start of the show.

What a night!! fantastic!! and I'm so glad they're all in the final, they were in tears,I very nearly was too.

The complete show was class from beginning to end and I didn't want it to finish.,can't wait till next week!

Watch Xfactor you must be kidding,Strictly is the best !

Rachel and Vincent to WIN!!

Well, what a turn up for the books. This was not what I was expecting, and I'm not sure what I think about it. It does mean there will be a three person final but in all honesty I think they should have had a week where no-one went much earlier, say when John Sargeant defected but certainly not at this late stage. As Tom was clearly in the dance-off it does compound my theory that the Beeb want a girl/boy final.

Margaret

Margaret Report 13 Dec 2008 20:45

Have all the strictly fans defected to X Factor? There don't seem to be many comments tonight.

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 13 Dec 2008 19:31

I watched while trying to avoid biting my nails. All three couples were very good. I feel a little sorry for Tom being at the bottom of the leader board, while the girls are joint first.
Did think though that has Jive lost some sharpness part way through.
I wasn't too keen on Tom at the start of the series, but must admit that he has grown on me.

I won't be voting as I don't want to send anyone home. As they all seemed to put their all into both dances.

I'm off to watch the X Factor Final, before coming back to Strictly.
Maybe I am a glutton for punishment.

Well, what a show. In my opinion one couple overmarked, one couple undermarked. According to the leader board Tom looks in danger but I don't think so. His supporters will vote in droves. I fully expect him to make the final even though mathematically he has to be in the dance off. As for the two girls, I know which one I think is the better dancer but sadly her public support doesn't seem to be particularly good. I have done my bit and voted again tonight - I must be mad - 10 votes !!

Rachel and Vincent have been my favourites since day one.......I love them together!!

Margaret

Margaret Report 13 Dec 2008 18:00

Not long to go now !! My nerves are jangling - how rediculous is that? I am only a spectator - heavens knows what I would be like if I was a contestant. I am still convinced one of the girls will go tonight in order to have a boy/girl final but I really can't decide who it will be. Lisa is a good dancer but too free with the tears and little girl smile for me, but Rachel has been getting comments in the press of having Vincent as her partner and a champion at the Argentine Tango so having an advantage - how daft, he's got to make sure SHE can do the dance, we all know he can. Just because you have an ace instructor doesn't guarantee you will also make a good job of it. Tom I do not have any fears for but as I always say, let's wait and see. Enjoy everybody. Will be back on here after the first half of the show whilst awaiting the results to see what you all thought. And good luck to all three contestants. And Julie you haven't hi-jacked my thread - it's an open thread for everyone interested.

Am I too early bringing this thread up, God I'm so nervous, sorry Midlands Margaret, didn't mean to highjack your thread. Some might call me sad, but can't get out today because of weather, it's too wet, and me mind is working overtime. We are both TOM fans. Just going to make OH some Cheese Straws we saw on The Hairy Bakers Show the other night to calm down. Might have a senior citizen nap this afto. to calm down. Have salad and new potatoes for tea tonight,so I don't drop anything whilst I'm watching. Sad arn't I.
Happy watching

Looking forward to seeing how they cope with the Argentine Tango next week. I think it will prove the biggest challenge they have all had up to now. Personally I hate the dance, think it's absolutely awful - looks a bit like judo moves to music, but still no doubt very complicated to get right. Would h ave been sorry to see any of the four couples go last night really but the right decision was made. It's Lisa or Rachel for the chop next week as I am convinced 'they' want a boy/girl final. See you all next Saturday.

Maybe Lisa will "accidently" step on Brendan's toes a few times during training this week!

I think that the Judges made the right decision too.

Such a shame that Austin had a poor score for his American Smooth. Sorry to see him go, he has had such a good positive attitude all the way through. Has worked hard too. Erin looked very upset, but couldn't tell if it was for herself or for Austin.

Will watch again next week, I am pleased that the results show will be on Saturday evening too.
Does this mean that it will go out live?

I think it would spoil it for me Joy to know the result before watching the vote results and dance off.
However, may have to resort to something next week, as we are away from home on saturday (Well away for 3 days so will have to record it).

Longing to see Brendan's AT.

AnninGlos Report 7 Dec 2008 21:24

I would agree with that Ann, I think Lisa might have a problem with that difficult Tango. However she may surprise us all.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 7 Dec 2008 21:22

that Vincent is one very brilliant dancer - I have a feeling now that he and Rachel will win the series - I was so sorry to see Austin go - my money was on him at the beginning but I think the judges made the right decision. I reckon Lisa and Brendan will go next week and it'll be Tom and Rachel in the final

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Dec 2008 21:14

what a difficult decision for the judges. Austin was a very gallant loser.

And what about that Argentinian Tango, how will they cope with that one?
