Sad Story - Loss of HMS Affray 1951

I have been keying in data for birth, deaths and marriages on the World Archive Project.

I had to key in a man who died in 1951 on the HM Submarine Affray, about which I knew nothing. As a result, I "googled" the vessel and found it was lost in the channel in 1951 and it was a terrible unexplained sinking to the sea bed, and now a military grave site.

This really moved me.

This is only one of many unique and interesting stories I have come across whilst doing this data and its amazing what I am learning.

The saddest of all is all the deaths I am recording for people missing in action in WW2.....
