i read it as "traveler for looa water" or "traveler for soda water"

damm i wish they would write in some language i could read lolol

Can't find him on Genealogist site for Yorkshire, but that doesn't surprise me as the transcriptions are awful. Rue the day I ever subscribed.

Add - Can't see him in Durham either. Oh well!!!

Found him and yes - mistranscribed as Carney.
It does have traveller for soda water in the transcription though this may not be helpful.

but having checked up a bit it seems "soda water" was sold for errrrrrrrrr medicinal use back then
