When I was younger we had a cat who used to cry to be let out every day at the same time, just in time to meet me coming down the rd from school. Also that cat would sometimes sit staring at thin air, fur stood on end growling at nothing we could see anyway.

slightly off track here, but we aquired a ghost cat in our new house yrs ago, my husband and myself would often feel it jump up on the bed, walk up the bed then snuggle between our backs. My husband even felt its fur tickle his face once and I saw it just once for a few seconds on my arm as i was laid in bed. As we knew the previous owners of our house we mentioned htis to them, apparantly it was their dead cat smokey who used to sleep on their sons bed in that particular bedroom while alive and it was blk an wht in colour just as i saw. All the family often saw it from the corner of our eye walking around the house.

My sisters Border Collie can tell the time!!

She waits behind the front door on a Friday night waiting for me to turn up with the kids. She never does this at any other time of the week. How does she know?
She also recognises my car!!

When we had dogs and I was seriously ill, neither would leave my side. One alsation cross would hear the telephone before it rang, and be up barking first! Cats are definitely psychic, though I cant think of an example at the moment.

I think I remember reading that cancers emit a different chemical odour than normal cells and that animals with their more sensitive noses can smell it, epilepsy is I believe an electrical distrbance of the brains can animals sense that too.
There are well documented cases of animals and birds leaving place well before earthquakes, there was even experiments to see if they(earthquakes) could be predicted by watching animal behaviour..

as for the dog staring at the path ??

We used to have a cat which always seemed to seek out anyone in the family who was feeling unwell. We all used to say she was very empathic.

Caz -what breed of sheep dog?
The old English ,however beautiful probably wouldn't pick up on much!
The others are highly intelligent-he must have sensed something, but to jump up ---then be frightened? Probably cos he couldn't 'catch' what he was seeing.
Don't think you need to worry about a stranger in the woods ,just a lost soul .................

About 16-17 years ago, my old cat started to behave very strangely, was desperate to go out, something she never wanted to do. That night, I woke up because the room was shaking, only when I heard lots of people screaming and shouting outside, did I realise that it was an earthquake, between 5,5 and 5,7 on the Richter Scale. We were o.k , but further south, in Limburg, a church and houses were badly damaged. My daughter phoned me up in complete panic, she didn't know what was happening at first. My cat felt it coming. That was the only time she behaved that way.

I can't say I have ever experienced anything like this myself but I do remember reading something in a paper last year about an old people's home/nursing home that has a cat.....an unfriendly cat at that. The only time this cat sits on anyone's bed is when they are about to die.....it's as though the cat just knows somehow! Never goes near anyone any other time apparantly, so they said.

I've also heard that some dogs know when their owner is about to have an epileptic (sp) fit.

Hi I'm fine how's you?

There may have been someone hiding that you couldn't see. May be a good idea to avoid that walk for a while, then take him back and see if it happens again.

A few weeks ago I read of two dogs that had sensed their owners had something wrong, and they were both diagnosed with breast cancer.
Perhaps your dog sensed the spirit of someone from the past.

So yes, I do think they're psychic

Hello all,

I have an 8 month old sheepdog pup,mad as a box of frogs and not bothered by anything, even much bigger dogs that make it clear they are not'playing' !
Today my little lass and i were taking him for a walk along a valley we have been down many times before. He was madly running around when he suddenly stopped, stared ahead and wouldnt move. There was nothing on the path, no dogs or people around. He was staring at something head cocked, he began to bark.
Then he sat down and appeeared nervous, he kept running at something , jumping in the air , then running back to us scared.
Have any of you ever experienced something similar? It was very odd.
