I am delighted to announce that a 3rd cousin once removed has tracked me down. She had a photo of my grandfather, sent to her gtgrandmother in 1895, also one of his parents with all their children, so that proves her relationship to me. I am so excited about it as we didn't have a lot of info about her gtgtgrandmother.

Noreen, the tooth thats got to come out,is an old crown that has got a metal post to it, so I need time to gee myself up to face it. I don't think it's going to be an easy extraction.
I did chuckle at your boo boo with the sympathy card, it definately sounds like the sort of thing that I am prone to do.

Ooh Yvonne, back to school soon. The little newbies all look so lost when they start a new school don't they, I feel so sorry for them till they adjust.
My grandaughter starts University as well next week, but she has the advantage of having an older brother there to support her at first.

I can't believe it's my sons first wedding anniversary tomorrow. Where has the time gone. Do you realise it's a whole year since my daughter fell out with me, and we are no further forward than we were on the day of it happening, still thats life.

Well folks have a lovely weekend, just in case I don't manage to get back tomorrow.
Bye for now, Mo

Hello all, I am back from no-internet land. My dial-up modem was fried when we had thunder one night. A new one finally arrived for me yesterday, so I can stop tearing my hair out. Not so sure about stopping, though, some of the sites are reluctant to let me in. I couldn't get in to FB earlier and it took ages to get into GR as well. But I kept trying. I am very trying.

Ah! Yvonne we had a nice wee P.O. near us, that is until someone had the bright idea of closing it down a few years ago and now the nearest one is a bus drive away. Did go to Ripon Market not so long ago and got some lovely cards for a fraction of the shop prices .... well with 6 kids + partners + 12 g/kid oh not forgetting him indoors and odd friends / relations it's good to get a bargain :-D

Afternoon all

hope you are all ok

Noreen I get my cards at the nearby post office, it's only a small one but they do some nice cards and not too expensive, our town centre is rubbish so I don't go there very much, there is a cheap card shop there but you have to pay to park.
Your neighbours sound nice, what a lovely way to welcome new people.

Son goes back to college next week and I start back at school dinner times, a new bunch of kids.

Well Mo I know what's happened to our co-op it had a major makeover about a month ago so they now need more space , now what you should do with the cards you send to the family ....ask for them back and send again ... see answer to your problem :-D mind you I do keep a good stack of them in the house buy when they are cheap and have other cards as well so when friend had her b/day this year she phoned to thank me ..."Did like your card .. even if it did say "With Sympathy" Ohhh! shows how much attention I gave to it but what I think did happen couldn't find glasses and am almost blind without and I am sticking to that theory ;-)
Oh Dear poor you could they not do the extraction there and then and get it over with instead of you having to think about it after all it only takes seconds to remove :-(

Coooeee Noreen, it's only me, popping in to say hello.
A lot of shops are stopping selling cards these days, there is just not enough profit in them to be stocked.
Also, we used to have a couple of really lovely card shops here, but because of the cheap shops, they went out of business.
So consequently, I find I seem to be buying the same cards all the time. My family say to me, "Mum didn't you buy this cards for our Anniversary/ Birthday last year lol"
I have been to the dentists this afternoon, for my check up, and have to have an extraction on Monday. Oh poor me.com ;-) ;-) ;-)
See ya tomorrow. Mo

Oh dear me, where has everyone got to lately. It's only been yourself Noreen and me posting.
I wonder if Marilyn is o.k, it's been ages since she posted, I do hope all is well with her and Pete.

I had a phone call this afternoon, a friend of mine, who has got bone cancer, collapsed outside Tes*o's.
The hospital have started her on a new drug last week, and over the weekend she was not at all well.
Bless her, she didn't want her son phoned to let him know of the collapse, but I had to ring him, as when she fell, she bashed the back of her head, and had to be taken to hospital to be checked over.
Why oh why, is life so unfair to good people, and yet rotten swines get away scot free.
Thats my moans out of the way now folks, so I will say cheerio for now. Take care, hugs to you all, Mo

Mmmm my mouth is watering Noreen, at the sound of the shortbread and Malteser cake.
My DIL has cake making days with our grandaughter Lilly. Little one ends up wearing more mixture than enough, but she does so enjoy it.
DIL very often put photo's of little minx doing her baking on Face Book for me to see.
Nine out of ten times, she is baking something chocolatey, and her face looks like she has eaten more than whats left in the bowl. It's so funny to see.
Nothing exciting happening here I am afraid to say, it's all quiet on the western front at the moment, but that wont last long, as Roly has just fallen asleep in his chair, roll on the snores. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Bye for now, take care. Mo

Now really had a nice afternoon at the Get to know the Neighbours Do for the new people that have just arrived. .... Nice neighbours......and ....... Great baking that every one did ..... Very Nice .... The 10yr old son of the lady we went to had baked shortbread and his 13 yr old sister had made a chocy Malteser cake well if that's the up and coming generation we have nothing to worry about their cakes were great shortbread much better than mine :-( both could show me up!
Got a beautiful plant through the post today ...alas nothing to show what it was looks like an outside plant but the only bit of paper with it was a general note saying indoor plants need to be watered (what a surprise) to me it looks like a magnolia it has hug pink buds on it but will have to wait and see.

Hi All Back again got the laptop from shop today they can't find the fault so looks like Tal* *alk but at least got it going.
Thanks Mo coping fine been a very sad time .
Been to town today to send parcel to Aus ...what a price £65! ...

oh no don't think so....lovely man at the counter told me to pack into 2 or more parcels so bought envelopes sat at table re-parcelled 3 of them - for goodness what a to-do but eventually got them sorted out (wasn't going to carry parcel back home) and it came to £30 - a lot but just sending on things family left behind before they emigrated ....won't be doing that very often :-|

Come on Shelly, you are slacking with that painting, no more going to theme parks till it's all done.
Sophie should not have been evicted from BB, Shelly, and I am so pleased that flippin Dexter didn't win. I have no idea how he managed to get into the last two, what a right to**er he was.
