LOL Noreen, I think the concerns we showed our children, when they were growing up, gets transferred to them as they get older, and we then become the children in their eyes.
I know it's great having them caring about us, but crikey moses, give us old uns a break :-) :-) :-)

Shelly, blimey mate, YOU in a dress, it's not a special occasion is it...well it is if you are wearing a dress I know. You will have to send a new photo, of the svelt looking Shelly, coz we wont know the new you, skinny minnie.

Cor it's another scorcher today,I am staying indoors, with the windows wide open, letting what breeze there is in.

Uhhmm Noreen, well it's like this see, I can't get to do yer painting just yet, I've got a bone in me foot, and it's not working to well. LOL
You are a lucky girl, getting your windows cleaned for you, for free and all.
I bet the new windows look a treat, and will look even better when you get the curtains up. Don't over do things though love, especially in this heat.
I bet the workmen felt they had landed on their feet, being supplied with cold drinks all day. I hope you gave them the bill when they left ;-)
I know what you mean about role reversal though, one of our daughters thinks she is the head of the family, and OH and myself are not happy about it. We say we may be getting old, but we have all our faculties. (well I have I think,,,erm whats my name lol)
Night god bless. Mo

OK Mo windows in you can get on with the painting any time now thank you ;-)
Hi Maddie nice to speak to you what a nice thread this is :-)
Well Wowie those poor window fitters have finished the windows and looks nice and no messy glass thought I would have to clean (never had such clean windows) kept asking if they wanted a cuppa no thanks but a cold drink so OH has supplied them (2) with 2 bottles of Coke/lemonade and 2 jugfuls of orange dilute (not very nice stuff but they drank it lol) ...ugh will have to get some more in for g/kids but they did work hard and it was soo hot all we could do is sit in garden and twiddle our thumbs. Now to put up curtains but they are all fresh and clean Thank goodness that's sorted now.
Did go to garden nursery and got a chilli plant with chilli's on it to go with the tomato plants we have which are coming along well but the nursery had big ones with huge toms but son who took me wouldn't let me buy :-P when did the roles change can I ask?'
Now to think what's for tea? :-S

Well, what a sweltering day today is, to hot to sit in the garden, even under the parasol I am melting away to next to nothing, but the fat isn't going anywhere, it's still laying on me belly like a lump of lard. lol ;-)
Going to get a cold drink now, anyone fancy one....{_} {_} {_}

Hello Girls and Boys,

Hope you are all well and decidedly warm!

Nice to see the newbies on the thread, its grand that it is still going. It looked a bit sickly for a while, it makes up for my tardiness and being unable to post.

At last I am getting to wear the clothes I bought LAST year.

Keep well everyone, will post again sometime soon.

Love to you all.

Oh good, now we know that Noll's name is Noreen, it will save confusion, especially where I am concerned, you know what a right narna I can be at times.
Well Noreen, sorry the painting will have to wait till after the windows are fitted, I am fully booked at the moment....in the mad house, thats where I belong doing all these jobs in the heat.
Our cat used to react the same as yours is at the moment, she hated the hot weather, as much as she disliked the snow, so I think it's an inbuilt things with cats.
We went in search of a fan for the youngest grandaughter today, and I don't know why, but most places had sold out. Ar*os had sold out of nearly every type, apart from the expensive ones, and I'm damned if I am going to pay over £400, to keep her cool.
We were looking for a stand up type, but ended up at B+* and got a table one. They had just had a delivery, but they were flying of the shelf like nobodies business.
At least little one will sleep better tonight.
Good luck with the workmen Noreen, and keep them happy with lots of cuppa's.

Shelly, you are a little hussy, running round the house in your micro shorts, no wonder your bum keeps sticking to the chairs. Sit yourself on a cushion hun, it's safer for the botty area.

Huia, I have been on google chrome for ages now, and don't have any problems with it.

Marilyn, you could make step mum very happy, if you saved up all your small change, and asked her to sit and count it.
She is a right old miser isn't she. Your poor dad has a lot to put up with, bless him.
What did you treat yourself to Maz? Not more clothes surely, you have enough to open your own branch of" "Marilyn's Clothes".

Must go and start dinner now, guess what it is, yep, salad again.
Bye for now, Mo

LOL .....I mixed my words up about the Step Mother .......I must have slipped a line when typing .!! :-D Mind you there are things that I could do to her now & then... but I wouldn't put her in the Dryer !!! LOL

She got on the bus to go into town and reinvest her Bonds at the bank .....Oh Why does she want to reinvest at 99yrs !!!!!!! we had a phone call from the bank from the clerk to say can someone come in and take her home as she is confused !! my brother in law made the journey.........as we were out at the time.
Now we have told her to NEVER go into town on her own EVER .....now you all might say poor woman .....BUT we have tried & tried to find a lovely residential home for her & Dad but all because she has to PAY for it ,she will not entertain it .........we live just waiting for emergency phone calls daily .....Ughh
Wont pay for Home help or cleaners etc.....WE do it all.
Just had a phone call to say her Smoke Alarm is ringing !!! but will have to wait until after lunch today to sort it she's supposed to be DEAF !!!!!! ......problem is Pete will end up getting an electrition in and then a row about money to pay him ....grrrrrr..!!!

Anyway ......I'm trying to enjoy this lovely weather, think I'll go in town after Step Mothers problem and spend some money on me .....I need new things to cheer me up ! LOL

Hi Everyone all surviving the sun and heat??
Huia think you have to watch that Marilyn especially when she sends dear sweet 90 yr olds home in a drier ..whatever next :-S

I have a nice wee job lined up for you Mo if you want won't take you more than a day painting the garage door and maybe the bit round the extension and and and..... any time will do but getting new windows in on Thurs so would prefer before then ;-)

Now then Shelly isn't it good the weather is being extra nice especially for you so you can have meals under your lean too I take it it is something new I love having our meals outside it makes me feel I'm on holiday ...lovely

Did I say we were having 4 new windows in on Thurs oh dear all the sorting we have to do move beds cabinets one room we use as an office (son's really) but got to tidy that up don't know about the desk it is huge and goes right up to window don't think we can move it still up at 7am this morning got pr of curtains to wash then OH took down the roller blind and the slatted ones so washed them ..great got them dried in no time the other curtains were washed about a week ago so all I have to do is take them down and rehang later oh will be glad to see the back of the workers though hate having strangers in the house still in this heat can sit outside
Do any of you own cats? we have one and she is having a right miserable time in the heat crying to come in/ go out /come in again wants food but when she gets it won't touch it talk about a moody teen well they have nothing on our Mia !

I had my computer looked at by experts today. I have now been put on Google Chrome, but luckily I can get into IE, as sometimes GC wont open a page. :-| Maybe I will learn how to use it soon.

Well our Shelly, what can I say that I haven't already said, you are a clever clogs, and now you are reaping the rewards of your hard work on the lean to.
I bet it's lovely out there in the evenings. Is the roof made of corrugated plastic, or have you left it open, I can't remember what you did with it.

Hah, Marilyn, how did I know that madam would be a problem for you. Is Dad doing o.k now my love?
Are you and Pete going on holiday soon. I know that you normally have a break around this time of year. But then with all the problems after your last one, I wouldn't blame you for staying home for a few months instead.

No Nolls today, I hope she hasn't got a touch of sunstroke from all this glorious weather.
Mind you, hasn't it been a hot un today again.
Poor Roly and me had to make a trip up to the local tip today. When we had our shed door replaced, we had to get rid of the old one. Cor blimey, we had wood coming out of our ears. We didn't realise just how much wood went into the making of a door, till we had to break it up, and dispose of it.
As soon as we got rid of it all, we took the car to get it valeted, it was like a timber yard in the back of it lol.
Why is it that we notice all these jobs that need doing, when the weather is at it's hottest, daft as brushes are we two.

Bye for now all. Take care in the hot weather everyone. Love Mo

At least she's not spending it counts every penny and still goes to the bank every week !!

Mo in Kent Report 14 Jul 2013 20:52

Nolls, I would definately complain to the manager, the service you received was atrocious and should never have happened.
You could maybe accept the fact of being seated apart, but not having the starters just dumped on the table, and be told to sort it out yourselves, that is NOT service, it's a diservice.
Mmm I love M+S cakes, in fact any foods from there. Thank goodness they had the cake you wanted, and that you weren't dissappointed.
It's still stiflingly hot here at the moment, I do hope it cools down a little by bed time.
Last night it took me ages to fall asleep, and then I woke up extremely early this morning. Now I feel like a zombie.

Hi there Yvonne, good to hear from you love. It's good that your son is enjoying his new car, and he was lucky that it had been cared for properly before he got it.
Have you got a new horse yet? It's a safe bet that you miss the one you lost.
Have you been down this way recently, to visit family.
We were toying with going down the coast today, but you know what the M2 is like on a sunny day. Apparantly it was chocker block all the way, and thank goodness we decided against it, I didn't fancy being stuck in traffic in this heat.

I wonder if Marilyn is still trying to find her step mum in her garden, or perhaps she stuck her on the BBQ, if she misbehaved. lol

Bye for now everyone, Mo xxx
