Hi all,
Well we are all having fantastic weather, but here I am shivering with a temperature of 24 degrees! Yes, my thyroid gland is going slow again. It has been good for 30 years but is not good at the moment. Also my kidneys are not functioning properly. I have told the doctor I am going away from Tuesday to Friday and will start treatment after then.
How are you Jo? We are a couple, aren't we?
I do miss Jill too, and do hope she is not ill. She always looks sp healthy and full of beans.
Will contact you at the end of next week.

Evening ladies, apologies for not being on line much, still having problems back to Dr tomorrow, had lots of tests more to follow....

We had lovely weather over the weekend, although today we had showers and no sunshine.

emailed Jill but got no reply, hope she is OK, probably just very busy.

Sylvia desperately need my hair cutting but need to get myself sorted out first before I dare risk driving into town.

Ann you sound like you are having a lovely time, relax and enjoy yourself.

Take care all of you.

Hi all,
Just popped in because I want to say how quiet I think it is on our thread at the moment. How are you Jo?
I went to the hairdresser today for a new perm in my hair. I can then have my hair washed again before I go away.
The weather is fantastic, sun quiet warm, just an odd drop of rain this afternoon, but soon over. For the weekend the forecast is good too, so I suppose this thread will stay quiet. Nevermind, enjoy yourselves.

Hi all,
Well we are having beautiful weather here and very warm. Yesterday Johan and I went into town and I bought myself some tunic tops, very colourful. I also bought myself two necklaces to go with these tops. I think I have enough trousers, in all colours.
We are going away to the coast in a Sun Parks hotel for a midweek break from 2-5 June. We have been in this hotel before and it is very good. We are going by taxi and taking our two scootmobiles with us.This means that Johan will have no driving to do so more of a break for him.
Have to juggle some appointments around now - physiotherapy and pedicure. My neighbour is coming back this weekend so must bake an apple tart for her.
I translated the recipe for you Rosalyn and then did something stupid and lost it again. will do it again soon. I promise.
Hope you are now 100% Jo. Thinking of you, and one big hug.

Sylvia, hope your arm is beginning to feel a little better.

Had my ears looked at first Sylvia, but doctor said nothing wrong with them. So will need to keep taking the medications, do not want to feel like that again was just horrible. The medication seems to be working this time though and I feel like I am on the way to being normal, well as normal as I have ever been!! Cannot spend too long looking at screens though so no watching TV at the moment.

Weather here has been awful as well, so cold, still cannot get warm, am just off to do my hot water bottle......

Hi all,
Thinking of you Jo, how are you now? Are you sure it is nothing to do with your ears? I have periods when I walk around as though I have been drinking and then I know it is time for me to have a new grommet fitted in my ear.
Issy, did you receive my ATC cards on time? Most anxious to know.
Yesterday it was so warm and I could sit on my balcony but today wind has got up again and it has been cold and now raining.
To all those who are sick, please get better. we cannot miss you.

Hi all,
Yes, the pyramid cards are very effective and once you have mastered the hang of it you will never go back!
Think of the pyramids in Egypt!
I have done the birthday girls cards - well most of them - in pyramage for the next batch of birthdays. I have now cards finished up to October.
How are you Jo?
Today I had to go and have an injection in my right arm as I had such pain. This morning I couldn't use my right hand at all but now it is a lot easier.
Haven't forgotten you Rosalyn!

Sorry you are no better Jo.

Not heard of pyramage cards Ros, can you describe them please?
Went to a market here in Puerto on Sunday and there was a stall with the most beautiful handmade cards on it, very professional looking and costing upwards from 3 euros. They were English cards.

Hi Ros, yes love pyramage, so easy to do, like to use very thin foam pads, think they look better than using the thicker ones, also it is easier to get them level than using silicone glue - but the silicone makes it easier to place them in the correct position. Especially love the twisted ones, they give a different look again.

Hi all,
Ann, that maniac who ran into the crowd of people here celebrating the queen's birthday had just lost his job. Apparently a bit of a loner and was 38 years of age. He died before they could question him any further. Just managed to ask him in the beginning why he did it. He was against the royal family it seems.
Now 7 dead and some still in hospital.
We still have a lot to do to our pc as the shop who repaired it took off WORD and EXCEL and also my anti-virus Norton. They have put on another anti-virus for me. Have asked my ex son in law whether I can borrow his CD to download WORD.
We are going to have our laptop connected for internet too when we go over to glass-fibre connections. Will then have another supplier and a new e-mail address.
Have a nice evening everybody.

Hi Jude, when I come back I will think of taking you up on that offer, thanks. haven't photographed any of it yet. Yes my Cuttlebug plate is getting marked too, not to worry, shows it has been used.

Jo, I hope the vertigo improves for you soon. Yes I remembered that you warned not to turn the plate over, did you learn that the hard way?

Sylvia you have been busy baking. Yes we saw that maniac in the car on our TVs, How awful to have a wonderful day spoiled like that. Is there any clue as to why he did it?

Well if I don't speak before I will when I come back. Will have my netbook with me but it will probably be just for writing letters as I don't think I will have a wireless connection.

All, I have made several cards this week to keep up to date before we go away, luckily we have no birthday girls with birthdays in May!!!

syljo

syljo Report 30 Apr 2009 21:09

Hi all,
Well what started off to be a wonderful queen's birthday here, celebrating Juliana's 100th birthday - her daughter is now our queen, Beatrix , and brother in law's 70th birthday, the day has been ruined by a maniac in a car who wanted to kill the royal family. He drove his car at full speed through various barriers and end result 5 dead with numerous in intensive care in hospital etc. He was 38 years of age. I hope he lives to go on trial, although he is also in intensive care at the moment.
We had a lovely sunny day and all over the country were festivities going on, especially children demonstrating to the queen and her family what they can do, lots of car boot sales, with children selling off their old toys.
Members of the royal family were full witness to the car crashing into the barriers and the look on their faces and our queen's speech later were not to be forgotten.
I have now baked 3 apple tarts since last Saturday and will bake another one on Saturday as I have visitors on Sunday.
My household help phoned me today to say how her family enjoyed my apple tart and it was the best they had ever tasted. Recognition at last girls.
Well the weather is quite bright during the day but we still need our central heating on in the evenings.
Haven't made any cards for a while now., so will be glad to get back into that line again. The pc seems ok now, but we have lost things which will cost us money to reinstall. Am thinking seriously of changing provider now that we have glass-fibre cable here in Almere. We are the first council in the Netherlands to have had this new system and should improve the speed of internet.
See you all tomorrow.

Sorry ladies have not been on the pc much recently as my vertigo has been playing up and cannot stand to look at the screen!!

Sylvia sounds like you are very busy as usual with all your baking. I love your stitched cards that you add decoupage on, she would love one of those I am sure, the stitching gives nice texture if she has difficulty with her eyes.

Ann my plate is banana shape it is so bent. You much make sure you always put the same one on the top and always the same side down so that it only bends in one direction or they snap, likewise when you are cutting always ensure that the blade faces the same plate. It does not make any difference to the workings of the machine or plates no mater how bent or marked they become. Mine is now completely opaque it has so many cuts on it!!

Weather cold here again today and at the moment it is raining.

Hope you are all keeping well
Take care
Joxx
